In Florida, a bus stop confrontation between two high school students suddenly escalated when the mother of one of the students allegedly intervened.
On August 15, the Flagler County Sheriff's Office received a call to a bus stop in Daytona North, Florida, due to a conflict resulting from a summer friendship falling apart during the school year.
Two teenage girls got off the bus and decided to fight each other, according to deputies.
In the video, Kathryn Stephanopoulos, a 34-year-old woman, becomes involved in a confrontation and at one point holds a child in a headlock.
Another child tried to break up the fistfight, but Stephanopoulos' daughter started a second fight with that child during the scuffle, police said.
After the fight ended, the teenager started arguing with Stephanopoulos and then threw a metal cup, striking the woman in the face.
In the cellphone video, a student asked, "Did she just hit her with a Stanley cup?"
"Yes, she did," another student replied.
"That's crazy!" the first student said.
"Luckily, no one was seriously injured, but now a mother is facing serious charges for losing control of her temper. He said that parents need to set the example and not be part of the problem."
