A firefighter who saved four children from a house fire responds to Donald Trump Jr.'s suggestion of awarding him the Medal of Freedom.
Elon Musk believes Nick Bostrom should have received the Medal of Freedom instead of Biden's contentious selections.
Nick Bostic, a former pizza deliveryman who saved four children from a house fire, shared with Planet Chronicle Digital that he discovered Donald Trump Jr. reposted a two-year-old video of the rescue on social media this week.
The president-elect's son contended that Bostic deserved the Presidential Medal of Freedom instead of Hillary Clinton and George Soros, whom President Biden honored with the nation's highest civilian award on Sunday.
"Elon Musk responded to Trump Jr.'s tweet about the presidential medal of freedom with one word: "Yeah.""
Bostic had already rescued an 18-year-old woman with a baby and two 13-year-old girls from the burning home before he went back inside to rescue the remaining 6-year-old girl. He navigated through the thick smoke and intense heat to find the girl in a separate bedroom and scooped her up.
Bostic told Planet Chronicle Digital that he punched through an upstairs window and jumped out headfirst, turning his body to try to land on his back and cushion the blow for the girl to land on his stomach.
Bostic ran towards the firefighter with the girl in his arms. He then handed her off and collapsed onto the sidewalk.
Bostic, who had been injured in the fire, asked medics if the baby was okay as they worked on him.
The police officer assured him, "Yes, you did well, man."
"Even though it was difficult to breathe and I was anxious, the experience was relaxing. Knowing the girl was okay made me feel even more at ease. After the officer informed me that she was completely fine, I surrendered to whatever was going to happen to me. If I wasn't going to survive, I was content with that."
On Monday, Bostic responded to the growing interest from President-elect Trump's son and Elon Musk, as he was featured in an interview with Planet Chronicle Digital.
"I was at home when I received a message from someone. It was about the video of me that Donald J. Trump Jr. had retweeted, which I found to be the craziest thing ever. My girlfriend and I looked it up and found the post. Then, someone else contacted me about it and said Elon Musk had commented on it. My girlfriend was shocked and said, 'No way,' while we both were equally surprised."
"He commented, 'Yeah,' and Bostic added, "That's all that man needs to say. 'Yeah, like, that's probably a million words in one like that guy with what he does nowadays and what he's doing for the planet." Bostic continued, "To even get a yeah from him is absolutely amazing. And then to get recognition from the man, the man, President Trump's son, is crazy, mind-blowing, and mind-boggling."
Bostic, a "die-hard Trump supporter," expressed optimism about the new administration, declaring, "I'm all the way, baby. I'm Team Trump."
"Bostic stated, "We need a leader who is proficient in managing finances, especially during these challenging economic times. Our current situation is like being on Defcon four, with our bank account in the red.""
Bostic stated that everyone deserves an opportunity to live a fulfilling life.
On the night of the fire, Bostic told Planet Chronicle Digital that he had a "silly fight" with his girlfriend while off duty and wearing his pizza delivery shirt. He went for a drive to clear his head and saw the blaze on his way back. Bostic believes that his presence to help was due to divine intervention.
"I am a devoted follower of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. I believe that God placed me in the right location at the right moment," Bostic stated. "Throughout my life, I struggled to comprehend my purpose. I never felt like I belonged anywhere truly."
"Bostic revealed to Planet Chronicle Digital that he attempted to take his life multiple times, but after the third attempt, he laughed about it and said, "All right, God, you win. It ain't my time." Following this, he stopped harming himself and believes that it was a sign from God that he had a greater purpose in life."
Bostic, realizing he had left his phone at home, tried to hail a passing car but failed. In desperation, he ran around the back of the house on fire and entered through an unlocked door. Fearing he could be shot if mistaken as an intruder, he repeatedly shouted that the house was on fire. He soon discovered the 18-year-old, the teen girls, and the baby.
As Bostic turned to save the 6-year-old girl, he remembered the fire that had already destroyed the master bedroom and hallway, and was confronted by a "monstrous wall of black, gray, mucky smoke."
"Bostic described the experience as if he had put his foot into an oven, which made him scared. He then heard a cry and a scream, and without thinking, he went in there. He doubled his shirt over his mouth for a filter and closed his eyes, following the sounds until he picked up the person in his arms."
Due to missed time from work, Bostic lost his job as a pizza deliveryman after spending several days in the hospital.
The man, now 27 years old, has worked as a security guard and a mechanic. He also runs a seasonal lawn care business, which he is determined to succeed for his nearly 2-year-old son.
In 2022, Bostic performed a daring fire rescue and was personally handed an application by the fire department. However, he is hesitant to join due to his desire to spend time with his young son.
Bostic congratulated Biden's controversial picks for the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
"I don't have a perfect track record, and that's okay. It's not about what you did in the past, but what you do and make of your life in the future. I'm proud of them, happy for them, and that's it."
He contended that first responders, law enforcement, and military personnel were more deserving of recognition in the aftermath of 9/11.
"Bostic stated, "I am a typical citizen and do not feel qualified to judge myself. If others believe I deserve it, I am deeply grateful to receive it. I am left speechless.""
Bostic aims to continue paying it forward by organizing small fundraisers for St. Jude's Children's Hospital on Instagram Live, as he has renewed his focus online.
Bostic, as a child, stated that a PVC pipe passed through one of his eyes while playing with a friend. Despite St. Jude reconstructing the eye, Bostic retains it but cannot see through it.
""This time, I believe it's time for me to start giving back after feeling blessed a million times over," Bostic stated."
