A California doctor, known for treating celebrities, was brutally murdered in a targeted assassination; the killer remains at large.
On Friday evening, Dr. Hamid Mirshojae was fatally shot outside his Los Angeles medical clinic.
A suspect who shot and killed a doctor who treated celebrities and athletes is being sought by police in Los Angeles.
On August 23 at approximately 6:12 p.m., in the 5900 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard, the Los Angeles Police Department announced that a victim was discovered with a gunshot wound and subsequently declared dead at his workplace.
The victim was identified in multiple reports as 61-year-old Dr. Hamid Mirshojae.
""Mirshojae was a well-known doctor in the Woodland Hills area and LA, as he was always joking, laughing, and helping people," Maryem Alaei, a family friend of Mirshojae, shared with KTLA."
No suspect description is available, and the police stated that the shooter fled on foot without a discernible motive.
A few months ago, the Daily Mail reported that a man was ambushed by three men with baseball bats outside a clinic and beaten.
A vigil was held for the doctor outside the clinic, where a memorial stands in his honor.
Mirshojae, who was killed in Turkey, left behind a wife and a 6-month-old baby. He had three adult children from a previous marriage, according to the Daily Mail.
"Gloria Sera, who has been seeing her doctor for 15 years, shared with KTLA that he made her feel better. Although he is from Iran, she is unsure if he was telling her the truth, but during their last visit, he revealed that he had just gotten married."
The doctor on the Detox Woodland Hills website has over two decades of experience providing urgent and emergency care, as well as over 10 years of experience in addictionology.
"The bio states that he has assisted thousands of individuals in achieving their objective of maintaining a sober lifestyle. His clientele comprises celebrities, movie stars, athletes, and people from diverse backgrounds."
