A bus crash in Mississippi results in the death of 7 individuals and injuries to many others.
Near Bovina, a commercial bus overturned early on a Saturday morning, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
On Saturday, a bus overturned on Interstate 20 in Mississippi, resulting in the death of at least seven individuals and the injury of dozens more, according to officials.
Near Bovina in Warren County, a one-vehicle crash occurred around 12:40 a.m. involving a 2018 Volvo commercial passenger bus, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
"According to the agency, six individuals were declared dead at the scene, while one additional person passed away at Merit Health Hospital in Vicksburg. Out of the 37 passengers involved, their injuries are unknown, and they were transported to various hospitals in Vicksburg and Jackson. The co-driver, however, was not taken to any hospital."
The Mississippi Highway Patrol and the Commercial Transportation Enforcement Division are still investigating the crash.
According to Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey, two of the victims were siblings, with ages of 6 and 16.
The cause of the accident was not immediately clear.
