A 3-year-old boy was discovered deceased after accidentally falling into a septic tank while playing outdoors, according to police.
At the time, the child was engaged in play with his brother and a neighbor.

On Monday, at approximately 3 p.m., a young child from Lakewood, Washington, was declared dead after being removed from a tank. Authorities were notified of the incident at around 2:20 p.m. that day.
According to investigators, the boy was playing with his 4-year-old brother and six-year-old neighbor when he accidentally fell into a neighbor's septic tank. It is reported that the child removed the tank's lid before falling in.
Their grandmother was alerted by their brother and subsequently called the police.
Sgt. Darren Moss stated that detectives and forensic investigators were summoned to the scene to record the occurrence.
An adult was present in the house with the children, according to authorities.
The Tacoma News Tribune stated that the tank was approximately three feet in diameter, similar to a sewer manhole.
The Pierce County Sheriff's Department did not immediately respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's request for more information.
The incident is being investigated by authorities. No further information is available.
