A 1,400-pound great white shark was detected four times near a Florida beach in one day.
Near Daytona Beach, a shark known as 'Breton' was found.
Recently, a 1,400-pound, 13-foot great white shark was spotted four times off a Florida beach in one day, according to shark trackers.
On Thursday, OSEARCH data revealed that a massive adult shark known as "Breton" emerged four times off Daytona Beach.
According to data, Breton pinged at 10:51 a.m. on Wednesday and then again at 12:37 p.m., 3:55 p.m., 5:30 p.m., and 6:49 p.m. on Thursday.
According to OSEARCH, a "ping" is recorded when a tagged shark briefly appears at the surface, and the tag is attached to the shark's dorsal fin.
On Friday and Saturday, Breton continued traveling west and his most recent ping was in the Blake Plaeau, as per OCEARH.
In the past 72 hours, Breton has almost covered 139 miles, according to the tracker.
In early November, he departed from the Newfoundland coast and journeyed towards Florida.
During OCEARCH's Expedition Nova Scotia 2020, the first shark to be tagged was named after Cape Breton, where he was discovered. Over the past four and a half years, he has journeyed more than 41,000 miles.
OSEARCH has tagged five sharks at Scatarie Island in two years, indicating that white sharks may have a predictable presence in the area.
According to researchers, North Atlantic great white sharks frequently migrate from their summer feeding areas to warmer waters and more plentiful food sources.
Planet Chronicle Digital did not receive an immediate response from OSEARCH when requesting a comment.
