A 12-year-old boy tragically lost his life in a ski accident on a mountain in New Hampshire.
According to authorities, the accident happened on an intermediate skier trail.
On New Year's Eve, a 12-year-old boy tragically lost his life during a ski trip at Cranmore Mountain in New Hampshire.
The accident happened while the boy was skiing on an intermediate-level trail, as per officials.
The boy was unconscious at the mountain base when the North Conway Fire and rescue team arrived on the scene.
Despite the efforts of the Cranmore Ski Patrol team, CPR was unsuccessful, and he was transported via ambulance to MaineHealth Memorial Hospital. Unfortunately, he was unable to recover and was eventually pronounced dead due to the extent of his injuries.
Both Cranmore Mountain resort and Conway Police Chief Christopher Mattei issued statements expressing their condolences.
"Cranmore Mountain Resort expresses its deepest condolences to the family," a spokesperson from Cranmore Mountain stated. "The entire Cranmore family is mourning this unfortunate loss."
I, on behalf of the Conway Police Department and all the first responders who aided, extend my heartfelt sympathies to the family of the 12-year-old boy.
The victim’s name has not been released at this time.
An investigation is in progress.
