The Rams' injury woes may have led to Cooper Kupp being placed on the IR.
Other key offensive pieces, including Puka Nacua, are already on the IR in Los Angeles.
On Monday, the Los Angeles Rams received more unfavorable injury updates after their defeat to the Arizona Cardinals.
Head coach Sean McVay informed reporters that Cooper Kupp, who sustained an ankle injury and left the game early, is likely to miss an "extended period of time" and is being considered for the injured reserve.
McVay did not want to begin his season this way, with both Kupp and Puka Nacua out for weeks.
Since Week 1, Matthew Stafford has had an incomplete offensive line in front of him, with Joe Noteboom and Steve Avila both on the injured reserve.
McVay stated that guard Jonah Jackson and safety John Johnson III may also land on the IR due to shoulder injuries.
In the second quarter, Kupp sustained an ankle injury while attempting to gain yards after a catch. A Cardinals player tackled him, causing his ankle to be rolled up. Despite his efforts to remain in the game, the Rams designated him as doubtful to return due to his ankle injury.
According to The Athletic, Kupp was spotted wearing a walking boot on his left leg as he exited State Farm Stadium following the 41-10 defeat.
In Week 1's overtime loss, Kupp had a monster game with 14 catches for 110 yards and a touchdown. However, in the following weeks, his performance declined, resulting in four catches for 37 yards.
The extent of Kupp's injury is unclear, but as a seasoned wide receiver, he has missed considerable time in the previous two seasons.
In 2022, Kupp's right ankle was an issue as he sustained a Grade 3 high ankle sprain in Week 10, which forced him out of the season after undergoing a tightrope procedure on Nov. 16.
In 2023, Kupp suffered a hamstring strain and a right ankle sprain, but he managed to continue playing despite the injuries.
With the Rams' top receivers unavailable, McVay must rely on Demarcus Robinson, Tutu Atwell, and Jordan Whittington to fill the void at the receiver position.
