Micah Parsons of the Cowboys claims that the referees aided the Chiefs in their victory over the Bengals.
Just days after his team was defeated 44-19 by the Saints, Micah Parsons made his comments.
On Sunday, the Cincinnati Bengals lost 26-25 to the Kansas City Chiefs, and Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons shared his thoughts on the outcome.
On Tuesday's episode of "The Edge," Parsons argued that the Chiefs gained an advantage due to dubious decisions made by the officials.
Parsons stated on the episode that the game was chaotic with many calls going both ways. Although he admits that the refs may have favored the Chiefs slightly, he emphasized that the outcome ultimately depends on the players' performance.
The referees made a contentious call during the game.
In the final minute of the game, the Chiefs' offense and Patrick Mahomes were facing a 4th and 16 deficit while trailing 25-23. Mahomes attempted an incomplete pass down the field to wide receiver Rashee Rice, but referees flagged him for pass interference, relocating Kansas City to the Bengals' 40-yard line. The Chiefs then positioned Harrison Butker for a game-winning field goal.
Despite having one of his weaker games, Mahomes still managed to secure the victory. He completed 18 out of 25 passes for 151 yards, scored two touchdowns, and threw two interceptions, one of which was caught by Bengals cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt who made a remarkable play to record the turnover.
Parsons commented on the Chiefs and Bengals despite his team's blowout loss with a 44-19 score just a few days ago. This loss marked one of the Cowboys' worst defensive performances since Parsons joined the team in 2021.
Parsons' podcast has been a topic of discussion due to its surprising and controversial content regarding other teams' business, which he has been including in both its first and second seasons.
In a September episode, Parsons advised NFL players to pursue relationships with high-status celebrity women, including Zendaya, despite her long-term relationship with actor Tom Holland.
Parsons has stated that he will continue to host the podcast and it won't interfere with his team, emphasizing that he doesn't aim to create controversy with his comments.
Parsons stated to reporters on Aug. 21 that he believed no one truly cared about what he was doing on a Monday afternoon when he was at home with his kids. Therefore, he questioned why anyone would care if he was on Xbox. In his opinion, everyone deserves their own free time. When away from the office, Parsons hoped that people were not thinking about him at home.
"Everyone is always drawn to something controversial, regardless of whether or not I try to avoid it. We all have our own opinions, and we're not going to agree to what everyone says. That's just the way life is."
C.J. Stroud, the Houston Texans quarterback, criticized Parsons' opinions on his podcast during an interview with Boardroom on Aug. 27.
""Although he has terrible takes, he's a great friend of mine and I have nothing but great things to say about him other than his takes," Stroud said."
