Coach says Malik Willis of the Packers refused to throw the ball after his teammate vomited on it.
The Packers won against the Colts with the help of Willis.
On Sunday, Green Bay Packers quarterback Malik Willis revealed that there was one thing he wouldn't do to win games during the season.
Jordan Love was injured, so Willis played in his place during the game against the Indianapolis Colts. He was 12-of-14 with 122 passing yards and scored his first passing touchdown. Additionally, he ran for 41 yards on six carries.
In the first half, Packers center Josh Myers had vomited on the football, causing Willis to tuck the ball and run instead of throwing it.
"LaFleur shared with reporters that he asked Malik why he didn't throw the ball on third down, and Malik replied that Josh had thrown up on the ball. LaFleur was surprised by this response and said that he had never heard of such a thing before. The official, Shawn Hochuli, came over to him and asked if he wanted to remove the center who was throwing up on the ball. LaFleur agreed, stating that it was a critical situation and that he had never had a throw with vomit on a football before. He believed that Malik probably didn't appreciate the situation."
In Brazil, during the heat, the Packers played the Eagles and Myers vomited.
The Packers secured a victory in the game with a final score of 16-10.
In 2022, Willis was a third-round draft pick of the Tennessee Titans from Liberty. However, he failed to convince the Titans that he was their future quarterback. Eventually, he lost the starting job to Will Levis.
In 2022, he had 276 passing yards and three interceptions in eight appearances. Last season, he made three appearances and was traded to the Packers before the start of the regular season.
Love's backup was supposed to be him, but the starter got injured with a knee injury while playing against the Eagles.
