Azeez Al-Shaair punches Roschon Johnson during the game, and Johnson reacts.
No penalty flags were shown during the game.
During the Houston Texans and Chicago Bears game on Sunday night, a punch was thrown during a scrum, but NFL officials failed to notice it.
Caleb Williams, the Bears quarterback, hurried to the sidelines and was struck just before he left the field. Meanwhile, Azeez Al-Shaair, a Texans linebacker, rose from tackling Johnson and punched him, despite Johnson not being involved in the play.
Despite officials separating the players in a heated moment, they failed to notice the punch and did not penalize the Texans or eject Al-Shaair.
Johnson reacted to the incident in a post on X.
The Bears player wrote that it required all of his strength not to beat up that boy.
The Bears lost the game, 19-13, due to their offense being stifled by the Texans' incredible defense. Caleb Williams was responsible for two interceptions, one to Kamari Lassiter and the other to Derek Stingley Jr.
"Winning one week at a time is all that matters," Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans stated after the game. "It may not always be pretty, but it's about finding a way to win. I'm most proud of our guys for their ability to do just that, no matter the circumstances."
Texans pass-rusher Will Anderson Jr. had 1.5 sacks in the game.
"Anderson stated that it's always enjoyable to target any quarterback and this week the team aimed to maintain the pressure on him."
