After the Bengals' loss to the Chiefs, Kansas City mayor has the final say.
The Chiefs defeated the Bengals 26-25 on Sunday, leaving them with a 0-2 record.
The competition between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals is becoming more politically charged.
The Bengals are off to another 0-2 start this season after losing to the Chiefs in Arrowhead stadium on Sunday with a last-second loss and Harrison Butker's golden boot.
In the second half, the two teams frequently changed the lead. With just under 10 minutes left, Evan McPherson scored his fourth field goal for the Bengals, bringing them close to victory.
As the game clock ran out, rookie Daijahn Anthony's critical penalty allowed Butker to do what he does best.
The buildup to Sunday's game saw some trash talking as the fight for bragging rights has been ongoing since the Chiefs' 23-20 victory in the AFC championship game in 2023, where Butker also kicked a game-winning field goal.
We arrived in Kansas. Now, where's the stadium?
The mayor of Kansas City, Quinton Lucas, responded with a witty remark after picking up on the slight.
"I hope you all had a wonderful day in Missouri. You're always welcome to return."
The Bengals enter Week 3 with a 0-2 record, which is their fifth time in six seasons.
