On Sunday, a deadly fight occurred at a popular tailgating spot for the Detroit Lions after the team lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Ford Field in Michigan.
A man in his 30s was arrested after a fight in Eastern Market, where one person was killed and another was left in critical condition, officials said.
Tailgating, drinking, and guns do not go together," White stated, according to the source. "It's absurd. If you're going to fight, then fight.
"Two people have been shot, one of whom is dead, and a suspect is facing serious charges, likely for murder."
The suspect fired at least two shots, killing one person and injuring the other during a fight.
Immediately, the suspect was arrested by officers who were working in the area for the game after they responded to the scene.
White said that a large fight broke out, which dispersed after a few minutes. They reconvened a few feet away from where the initial fight started.
"A gun was fired during a fight between two individuals, one of whom was a male from Oak Park. Two people were hit."
According to FOX 2 Detroit, the police found two weapons at the scene.
The cause of the fight was unclear. White stated that there was a "lack of conflict resolution." He added that the suspect was licensed to carry a gun.
