Trump allegedly promised RFK control over public health agencies.
Donald Trump, former president, stated his commitment to including Kennedy in his administration.
According to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., former President Donald Trump intends to grant him control over the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Kennedy stated that Trump pledged to give him control over public health agencies, including HHS, CDC, FDA, NIH, and a few others, as well as the USDA.
He made the comments in a video clip that has been circulating online.
According to the New York Times, Kennedy stated via text that the video was a recording of an internal discussion among campaign workers about get-out-the-vote efforts for Trump.
Kennedy pledged to help eliminate conflicts and corruption in public health agencies and restore their reputation for evidence-based science, as reported by the outlet.
The HHS secretary and USDA secretary posts are both cabinet-level positions.
Although no official decisions regarding the Cabinet and staff have been made, President Trump has stated that he intends to collaborate with passionate voices such as RFK Jr. to "Make America Healthy Again" by ensuring families have access to safe food and ending the chronic disease epidemic affecting our children, as stated by Trump campaign national press secretary Karoline Leavitt in a statement, according to reports.
Kennedy initially sought the Democratic presidential nomination but later opted for an independent bid before ultimately dropping out and supporting Trump.
Kennedy posted that when @realDonaldTrump appoints him to the USDA, they will provide farmers with an alternative to the current system that harms soil, endangers public health, and threatens family farms.
Trump confirmed his commitment to including Kennedy in his administration when asked by podcast host Joe Rogan.
At a recent rally at Madison Square Garden, Trump announced that he would allow Kennedy to have free rein on healthcare, nutrition, and medication.
"Once @realDonaldTrump is back in the White House and I'm in D.C., I will remove ultra-processed foods from school lunches," Kennedy stated.
The CDC, NIH, FDA, and USDA have been criticized by Kennedy for acting as "sock puppets" for the industries they regulate.
He stated that he and Trump plan to replace corrupt officials with honest public servants in the industry-captured sector.
