The House Dems are pushing for a vote on disclosing the Gaetz ethics report.
Last month, Matt Gaetz stepped down from his position in Congress.
A Republican lawmaker is pushing for a vote on the release of the House Ethics Committee's report on former Rep. Matt Gaetz, D-Fla.
On Tuesday afternoon, Rep. Sean Casten, D-Ill., presented legislation to require a House-wide vote on whether to release the Gaetz report.
A "privileged resolution" was introduced, which requires House leaders to consider it within two legislative days, setting the deadline for Thursday.
The House Ethics Committee's investigation into Gaetz, which included accusations of having sex with a minor and using illegal drugs, ended abruptly last month when he resigned from Congress just hours after Trump appointed him to be his attorney general.
Despite opposition from the GOP, Gaetz withdrew from the investigation, resulting in the committee losing jurisdiction over the probe when he left the House of Representatives.
The committee was about to meet to consider releasing the report when he resigned.
Gaetz has consistently denied any accusations of wrongdoing.
