If Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., vacates his seat to challenge Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., for the top Democratic spot on the House Judiciary Committee, the New York Democrat may be looking to replace him, Politico reported.
On Tuesday, Rep. Gerry Connolly, D-Va., announced his candidacy for the Oversight role, having previously run against Raskin for the position in the previous Congress.
Several older House Democrats may face challenges from their junior colleagues in the upcoming battle for Raskin's seat.
According to Axios, Ocasio-Cortez stated that she would be making a decision shortly.

Raskin's successors are being considered, including Representatives Ro Khanna, D-Calif., and Stephen Lynch, D-Mass.

The committee is responsible for overseeing government efficiency and accountability.
