Both sides of Congress have vowed to act promptly upon receiving a formal request from the Biden administration.
FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell stated last month that her agency requires an additional $40 billion in funding beyond its 2025 budget request to support ongoing recovery efforts from the storms and fulfill its mission objectives until the end of the fiscal year.
Despite the lack of funds, some criticize Biden's foreign-first approach, which was highlighted in a video of him announcing $1 billion in Africa on Tuesday.

Previously, House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that the storm could potentially be one of the most costly in U.S. history.
