Former Republican Congressman Fred Upton expresses pride in his vote for Kamala Harris.
In 2021, Upton was among the 10 House Republicans who supported impeaching Trump.
Rep. Fred Upton, one of the 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach President Donald Trump after the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot, has announced that he will vote for Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
Upton stated that he was "pleased" to announce that he had already voted for Harris.
He stated that he had never before voted for a Democratic presidential candidate and had never believed he would.
Trump has been repeatedly shown to be "unfit to serve as commander-in-chief," as asserted by Upton.
The former lawmaker stated that although he does not concur with Harris on all policies, he believes that she is dedicated to safeguarding the well-being of Americans.
He invited all individuals nationwide, regardless of political affiliation, to stand against the hate and chaos of Donald Trump and vote for Harris as the next President of the United States.
Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, both former Republican representatives who served on the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th incident, have publicly supported Harris in the 2024 presidential race. Additionally, like Upton, they both voted to impeach Trump in 2021.
Cheney has been criticized by Trump on social media as "a crazed warhawk with low IQ."
Upton, who served in Congress for over three decades from 1987 to 2023, did not run for re-election in 2022.
