Margaret Qualley and Demi Moore star in the new film, 'The Substance.'
Despite her recent role in a horror film, Demi Moore was also fighting her own personal demons.
"Moore shared with the outlet that during his first week of vacation, with only Margaret Qualley working, he contracted shingles and subsequently lost 20 pounds."
In the movie, Moore portrays a 50-year-old famous person who discovers a method to momentarily appear younger using an experimental medication.
Qualley, who plays Moore's clone in the movie, stated, "Yeah, I had acne for a long time."

In a recent interview with Interview magazine, the mother of three discussed her career in Hollywood and the reasons she felt out of place at one point.
Moore revealed to the outlet that he had completed "Charlie's Angels" and there was a lot of discussion about a particular scene in a bikini, which was heightened and resulted in a lot of talk about his appearance.
"I felt like I didn't belong in the place I found, as if I didn't fit the expectations of being a mother at that age."
Moore described her new film as a distinctive approach to examining the topic of aging, societal expectations, and the pressure to conform to the male-idealized woman.
"Ultimately, the essence of it lies in our actions towards ourselves, and I appreciated how it was portrayed in a tangible manner, demonstrating the impact of self-attack and distortion through our thoughts," she stated. "There is immense strength in recognizing that our actions towards ourselves are a result of our choices, and we have the power to make a different decision."
During a chat with Kelly Ripa, Moore, known as a "sex symbol," delved deeper into the topic.
"The speaker revealed that she enjoys being busy, despite earlier comments suggesting her career had always been hectic. However, she shared that this was not entirely accurate, as she felt like women in their 40s were often overlooked and not given opportunities."
At the time, Moore was told she was too young to play certain parts, but she was also too old for many others because she was not 30 years old.
Moore stated, "I was told, 'We don't really know what to do with you.' It's been interesting to see the shift we've gone through."
Streaming services are recognizing the demand for content that caters to a diverse group of women, including those in their 50s, 60s, and 70s, which is an exciting development.
