Lauren Sanchez, fiancée of Jeff Bezos, faces criticism at Trump's inauguration for her lingerie-inspired attire.
In 2023, an Emmy-winning journalist and children's book author received a proposal from the chairman of Amazon.
After unveiling a racy look at Donald Trump's inauguration, Lauren Sanchez has faced criticism on social media.
Jeff Bezos' fiancée wore a white Alexander McQueen pantsuit with a fitted satin-trimmed blazer and wide-leg trousers.
Instead of a traditional blouse, she chose a risqué white lace bustier. She completed the look with a fuzzy coat for the frosty day. Sanchez also made head turns with her signature smoky eye, glossy nude lips, and a sleek updo.
Reports indicate that Sanchez's eye-catching outfit costs at least $1,800.
The author, pilot, and former journalist, accompanied by her billionaire beau, wore an oxblood-hued tie with a suit.
Many quickly took to social media to criticize the 55-year-old’s look.
"A critic on X wrote that Jeff Bezos' future wife Lauren Sanchez was inappropriately dressed for a state occasion, with her white lace bra showing."
Another chimed, 'Good grief, Lauren Sanchez. Put them away for one day.'
"Another user commented, 'Really, a bra plainly visible.' However, today is not a night club event. Please show some class and dignity."
Another user suggested that Sanchez could purchase a shirt from Amazon's same-day shipping service. Meanwhile, others joked that the mother of three was dressed by Victoria's Secret.
"As I was enjoying the elegance and sophistication of @FLOTUS45, Lauren Sanchez entered the room wearing only a bra," one user remarked, drawing a comparison between the Emmy winner and Melania Trump.
The first lady, 54, opted for a more modest navy Adam Lippes tailored navy silk wool coat for the inauguration. She complemented her look with a navy silk wool pencil skirt and an ivory silk crêpe blouse, as well as black leather gloves and a statement-making wide-brimmed hat.
At the December New York Times DealBook event, Sanchez wore the same form-fitting suit as she did in her sultry selfie for her nearly 900,000 followers.
A presidential fashion historian and professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) was left stunned by Sanchez's fashion statement on the historic day, according to Newsweek.
"I was taken aback when I witnessed the astonishing attire," Lee confessed. "This scandalous lingerie display may be a first in inauguration fashion history, despite her not being a part of the ceremony or an official guest."
On Monday, Trump was inaugurated as the 47th president, pledging to bring about a "revolution of common sense" while restructuring the nation's institutions.
A group of billionaires and tech leaders, including Bezos, Zuckerberg, Cook, Pichai, and Musk, were positioned prominently in the Capitol Rotunda, interacting with Trump's transition team prior to the ceremony's start.
In May 2023, after five years of dating, Bezos proposed to Sanchez. Although they haven't publicly announced any wedding details, Sanchez revealed on the "Today" show that she was already preparing for the big day.
