Two more of Mariah Carey's Christmas shows have been canceled due to her flu: "I'm really devastated about it."
Earlier this week, Carey canceled her show in Pittsburgh due to being ill with the flu.
Two shows on Mariah Carey's Christmas Time tour were canceled due to her flu.
The 55-year-old singer announced that she was unwell and cancelled her shows at the Prudential Center and UBS Arena this weekend.
"Unfortunately, I must cancel the shows in Newark and Belmont as I am still sick. I am deeply disappointed and grateful for your understanding. Love, MC," Carey wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
On Wednesday, the five-time Grammy Award winner canceled her concert at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania's PPG Paints Arena just hours before she was scheduled to perform.
Carey, the "Queen of Christmas," wrote on X that she was sorry to inform Pittsburgh that she had caught the flu and had to cancel tonight's show. Despite her love for her fans, she was unable to perform due to her illness.
Carey's final concert on her tour is scheduled for Dec. 17 at Brooklyn's Barclays Center. However, she has not yet announced whether that show will also be canceled.
The iconic Christmas anthem "All I Want For Christmas Is You" by Mariah Carey has reclaimed its number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the 15th total week this year, and has sold more than 10 million copies.
A fight occurred during a performance of "All I Want for Christmas is You" in St. Louis, Missouri last week, with two men getting into a brawl while a woman tried to restrain one of them.
Despite the confrontation, Carey sang the song and ended the show.
In August, Carey declared that she would be going on a 20-city nationwide tour to commemorate the 30th anniversary of her album "Merry Christmas," which included "All I Want For Christmas." The tour began on Nov. 6 at Highland, California's Yaamava Theater.
In an April interview with People Magazine, Carey disclosed information about her tour plans, stating, "I have been devoting all my time to this project."
"I collaborated with some amazing individuals, including Miss Debbie Allen, on this project," she stated. Allen, a two-time Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner for her work on the 1980s TV show "Fame," served as the creative director and choreographer for the Christmas Time national tour.
"Carey revealed to People that she will be performing new songs and duets, and she plans to keep some surprises."
