The Southern California wildfires caused a delay in Meghan Markle's return to Netflix.

The Duchess of Sussex announced that her upcoming series, originally slated for a January 15 premiere on the streaming platform, has been rescheduled for a March 4 release date.

The Palisades Fire and Eaton Fire prompted Markle, a Los Angeles native who graduated from the all-girls Catholic Immaculate Heart High School, to request a postponement of her show's debut.

The Netflix representative confirmed to Planet Chronicle Digital that the release of the show, a tribute to Southern California's beauty, has been moved from its January premiere date to March 4 due to the ongoing devastation caused by the Los Angeles wildfires, at the request of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and with the full support of Netflix.

Markle expressed gratitude to his Netflix colleagues for allowing him to postpone the launch, as they prioritize the well-being of those affected by the wildfires in his home state of California.

On Friday, Markle and Prince Harry met with Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo to support victims and relief efforts.

Wildfires in Southern California have caused widespread devastation in recent days, affecting tens of thousands of people and destroying homes, schools, medical care centers, and more. As a result, a state of emergency has been declared.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have highlighted various organizations on their website that are actively assisting wildfire victims. Among these are the Animal Wellness Foundation, which is providing care for evacuated animals, Compton Cowboys, which is offering emergency transportation services for horses, and Airbnb and 211LA, which have joined forces to offer free temporary housing to those who have been displaced.

This month, Markle revealed her latest venture on social media after returning to Instagram for the first time in five years.

"Markle shared her excitement about the show on Instagram, captioning the post, "I have been so thrilled to share this with you!" She hoped that viewers would enjoy the show as much as she enjoyed making it. Markle wished everyone a happy new year and thanked the crew and team at Netflix for their support. She was grateful for the opportunity to work on the show and the positive experience it brought."

The duchess of Sussex was seen cooking, gardening, and dancing in her kitchen alongside celebrity friends, including Mindy Kaling and Roy Choi, in a clip featuring Prince Harry.

Netflix describes Markle's series as a lifestyle program that combines practical advice and candid conversations with friends, both old and new.

"Meghan offers practical advice and fun techniques, emphasizing enjoyment over precision and demonstrates how effortlessly one can achieve beauty in unconventional settings. She and her companions engage in hands-on activities in the kitchen, garden, and beyond, encouraging you to join in."

After stepping away from their royal duties and moving to California in 2020, the couple's multiyear deal with Netflix came to fruition. In 2022, they released their bombshell docuseries, "Harry & Meghan," which earned the biggest one-day audience for any Netflix series since monitoring began in October 2022.

In 2023, they released the "Heart of Invictus" docuseries, followed by "Polo" in 2024.
