The Nelons' 'love and passion for the Lord' remembered by pastor killed in plane crash.
A Wyoming plane crash on July 26 resulted in the deaths of seven individuals, including three members of the Nelon family.
On July 26, a plane crash occurred that resulted in the death of all seven people on board, including three members of The Nelons, a gospel group from Georgia.
Keith Holloway, a National Transportation Safety Board spokesperson, stated that a preliminary report on the crash is expected in approximately 30 days, while a final report on the probable cause of the crash could take up to two years to complete.
Kelly Nelon Clark, her husband Jason Clark, their daughter Amber Nelon Kistler, Amber's husband Nathan Kistler, Melodi Hodges, pilot Larry Haynie, and his wife Melissa Haynie all died in a crash.
Stephen Peeples, the pastor of Roopville Road Baptist Church, found solace in his grief as he remembered the Nelons, who were regulars in the congregation and had finally reunited with their maker.
Peeples quickly answered when asked about The Nelons' legacy.
"Peeples exclusively told Planet Chronicle Digital that their love and passion for the Lord were the driving force behind their concerts. They loved to minister to the body of Christ through their music, and their performances were not just a show but a way to spread the word of God."
Many members of the community were unaware of the extent of the Nelons' contributions through their ministry work, as noted by Peeples.
"Their mission activity ministries were not well-known, but they had a wide reach beyond just southern gospel music. They had a mission mindset," he said.
Peeples immediately tried to reach Autumn Nelon Streetman, the pregnant daughter of Kelly and Jason, after hearing about the flight crash in Wyoming.
Jamie Streetman and Autumn separately journeyed to Seattle to join the Gaither Homecoming Cruise to Alaska.

Autumn's loss is unimaginable. Four family members, including immediate family members, were lost, and she was expecting the first grandchild of the family. They were all excited about it.
"Autumn told me, 'You know what? I know that God sent this child at the right time,'" Peeples recalled. "This is where we have to put our trust in the Lord. There's no way around it. I shared with our staff that a faith that cannot be tested is a faith that cannot be trusted."
The pastor was resolute in ensuring that the congregation would maintain their trust in "our Lord, regardless of any events that may occur."

The beauty of every bit of this is that I know they're in the presence of the Lord," he said. "I knew their testimonies of being a Christ follower - all seven on that plane. As the Bible says, we grieve, but not as those who do not have any hope. Instead, we have a for-sure hope of knowing that they're with Christ.
"This temporary separation is but a brief moment for those who are familiar with the Lord."
The Roopville Road Baptist Church will host a celebration of life ceremony for the family on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at 1 p.m. The event will be live-streamed.

According to Holloway, the National Transportation Safety Board spokesperson stated that an "autopilot issue during flight" is a possible cause for concern during the initial investigation, while further evaluation of the situation is being conducted.
The Gaither Music Group announced that the Atlanta-based Gospel music family was on their way to join the Gaither Homecoming Cruise to Alaska when their plane crashed.
The Kistler family, the Haynie family, and the family of Melodi Hodges will be prayed for as Autumn and Jamie return home to Kelly’s brother, Todd Nelon, and his wife, Rhonda, to begin the difficult tasks ahead.
In 2016, the Nelons were inducted into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame and won 10 GMA Dove Awards, including multiple song of the year and album of the year awards.
