The fallout from Prince Andrew's association with Jeffrey Epstein has left Princess Beatrice feeling devastated, according to an expert.
Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are expecting their second child, Buckingham Palace announced.
The House of Windsor is experiencing mixed emotions as Princess Beatrice prepares to welcome her second child.
The special "A Very Royal Scandal" on Amazon Prime centers on Prince Andrew's 2019 interview about his relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, and the princess, who reportedly supported her father in speaking out at the time, is also mentioned in the special.
Buckingham Palace announced Beatrice's pregnancy on Tuesday.
Hilary Fordwich, a British royals expert, claimed to Planet Chronicle Digital that Princess Beatrice is likely still feeling devastated after being in the room at Buckingham Palace during the interview negotiations.
Fordwich observed that she was clearly inexperienced and had no track record in dealing with such matters.
After a source claimed to Australia's New Idea Magazine that Fordwich is "sick of being humiliated" and feels "stuck in the middle" as the scandal continues to follow her father, Fordwich made comments.
The insider claimed that the situation is stressful and Beatrice often finds herself in the middle of things, acting as a peacemaker for her dad, as reported by GB News.
"Princess Beatrice is no doubt still feeling devastated as she was in the room at Buckingham Palace during the negotiations [for the interview]." — Hilary Fordwich, British royals expert
"Beatrice is brokenhearted, of course," the source claimed. "No one wants to be around Andrew when he's dealing with so much right now."
In "A Very Royal Scandal," Michael Sheen plays the Duke of York in the days before his "Newsnight" interview with Emily Maitlis.
After the disastrous meeting where he faced accusations from Virginia Giuffre, Andrew declared he would be taking a step back from his royal responsibilities.
According to royal expert Ian Pelham Turner, the car-crash interview of Prince Andrew has caused irreparable harm to his public persona and his daughters.
"Beatrice and Eugenie have always been close to their parents, but now Beatrice is pregnant and resides in Britain, which means she must handle the responsibility of maintaining relationships with both her family and the royal family."
Pelham Turner claimed that she has been toning down the heated language on both sides.
According to Pelham Turner, tensions between Andrew, 64, and his brother, King Charles, have reached their peak.
"King Charles recently advised Andrew to relocate to a luxury townhouse in Belgravia, a highly exclusive area of London, but Andrew declined," according to Pelham Turner. "Now, the king is reportedly reducing Andrew's security detail while residing at Royal Lodge in Windsor." Pelham Turner also stated that Beatrice is currently facing a difficult decision as she navigates a challenging situation with her father.
According to sources, Beatrice had been avoiding Royal Lodge, Andrew's expensive home valued at $38 million.
Andrew, described as a "doting grandfather," welcomed Beatrice's growing family.
He stated that the arrival would provide him with more tasks to accomplish.
The prince is also the subject of a special news program.
The Netflix film "Scoop" is based on the book "Scoops: Behind the Scenes of the BBC’s Most Shocking Interviews" by former BBC Newsnight producer Sam McAlister. The movie details the making of the car-crash interview.
Previously, McAlister stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that Andrew had Beatrice with him during his final negotiations prior to the interview.
"McAlister stated that it was a surprise when the person who arrived was his daughter instead of a lawyer. He had anticipated a lawyer to shut down the allegations against him, but instead, his daughter appeared. The conversation was delicate, given the allegations against him, and it took place in front of his daughter."
"She was precisely what you would expect, a worried daughter who fiercely guards her father," she added. "I understand these are unusual circumstances, and the accusations against him are extremely serious. However, at the end of the day, she's a young woman who deeply cares for her father and is doing everything in her power to safeguard him."
"McAlister stated that the relationship between them, despite the unusual circumstances, was characterized by a protective daughter who listened to them and was concerned about their actions. He emphasized that she was receptive, polite, intelligent, and interested in the process itself. He added that a daughter's nature remains the same regardless of her social status, and that she was indeed a daughter, whether she was a prince or a pauper."
Helena Chard, a British broadcaster and photographer, previously stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that the king desires Andrew to vacate his 31-room residence, which he shares with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.
"Prince Andrew's reputation is at an all-time low, and yet, his ego is at an all-time high. He has dug his heels and refuses to leave the home he loves, the prestigious Royal Lodge, despite King Charles realizing that it is not a good look."
"Prince Andrew will be frozen out of Royal Lodge as King Charles has decided to freeze his financial support."
Since 2004, Andrew has resided in Royal Lodge after signing a 75-year lease agreement the previous year. The property demands an estimated $503,000 annually for maintenance.
The duke, who was "on the verge of eviction," was predicted to reduce his holdings following his association with Epstein.
The outlet reported that the king would financially support Sarah Ferguson and his brother if they resided in Frogmore Cottage, the former royal residence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Over a year has passed since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were requested to leave Frogmore Cottage.
Andrew is reportedly "resisting" downsizing. A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace told Planet Chronicle Digital they won't comment on "security matters."
After his interview, Andrew lost his honorary military titles and royal patronages, and was prohibited from using "His Royal Highness" in official settings.
The council in York unanimously voted to revoke the "freedom of the city" that was granted to Prince Andrew in 1987. This is the first time that the honor, which dates back to medieval times, has been taken away.
Royal author claims that Queen Elizabeth remained incredibly close to Prince Andrew right up until her death.
Since then, local leaders have contended that Andrew should relinquish the title of Duke of York in addition to his royal duties. However, a representative for Andrew refused to provide any comment on the matter at the time.
In 2020, Giuffre filed a lawsuit accusing Andrew of exploiting her sexually on three occasions in 2001 when she was 17. Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
In 2022, a U.S. judge dismissed the sex abuse lawsuit against Andrew, who settled with Giuffre. The prince made a substantial donation to his accuser's charity and declared he never intended to harm her reputation.
Andrew was mentioned in previously concealed court records concerning Epstein that were made public in the new year. This was part of a 2015 lawsuit brought against Maxwell by Giuffre.
The documents, including interviews with some of Epstein's accusers and old police reports, revealed that the wealthy businessman had been associated with prominent and influential individuals, some of whom have also been implicated in wrongdoing.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
