The 2024 CMA Awards are here and promise to be a great show.

The brightest stars in country music, including Chris Stapleton, Lainey Wilson, and Jelly Roll, will perform and compete for the night's biggest award.

The race for entertainer of the year, female vocalist of the year, and male vocalist of the year is more intense than ever, with the industry's top talent vying for the titles in each category.

Here is everything you need to know ahead of the 2024 CMA Awards.

Hosts of the 2024 CMA Awards

Lainey Wilson will join Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning as hosts of the 2024 CMA Awards.

"Wilson expressed his excitement in a press release about hosting the CMA Awards this year with Luke and Peyton. He stated that it was an honor he had always dreamed of and that they were planning a fantastic show for viewers to watch on Nov. 20."

Peyton and Bryan have hosted the award show together for the past two years, and Manning thinks Wilson will add a unique energy to their hosting team.

For two years, Bryan hosted the show on his own before partnering with Manning.

"Being the host of the CMA Awards for the fourth time is an honor, and it's surreal to realize how much I've grown with Peyton and now with Lainey joining us, it's going to be even more exciting," Bryan said. "Celebrating country music never gets old for me."

Nominees of the 2024 CMA Awards

This year, Morgan Wallen leads the way in nominations with seven, including entertainer of the year, single of the year, song of the year, male vocalist of the year, and twice for musical event of the year and music video of the year. He is competing against Lainey Wilson, Chris Stapleton, Luke Combs, and Jelly Roll for entertainer of the year.

Stapleton, Cody Johnson, Post Malone, and Wilson are all nominated for five awards, with Stapleton and Cody Johnson leading the way in number of nominations.

Stapleton and Wilson are both nominated for multiple awards, including entertainer of the year, single of the year, album of the year, song of the year, and male/female vocalist of the year. Additionally, Ballerini, McBryde, Moroney, and Musgraves are also nominated for female vocalist of the year.

Malone has been nominated for four CMA Awards, including music video of the year, musical event of the year, single of the year, and song of the year. Jelly Roll and Combs are also up for awards in the album of the year and male vocalist of the year categories.

Performers for the 2024 CMA Awards

The 2024 CMA Awards will feature many of country music's top performers, including Stapleton, who will sing "What Am I Gonna Do," and Post Malone, who will perform "California Sober" with him.

McBryde will perform a solo rendition of her song "Yours," while the song she'll sing has not been disclosed.

Wilson and Bryan will perform their latest hits in addition to hosting the event. She will sing "4X4XU," and Bryan will perform "Love You, Miss You, Mean It."

Other notable performers include Shaboozey, who will sing his hit "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" and his new song "Highway"; Thomas Rhett will perform with Teddy Swims; and Dierks Bentley will sing with Molly Tuttle, Sierra Hull, and Bronwyn Keith-Hynes.

Lifetime Achievement Award

The 2024 CMA Awards will honor George Strait with the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award.

Since 2012, the award has been given to a country musician who has achieved the highest level of recognition, considering both their musical achievements and humanitarian efforts.

"George Strait is an authentic Texas and Country artist who has inspired and served as an icon to many new artists. Sarah Trahern, CMA chief executive officer, stated that he is a three-time CMA Entertainer of the Year and the most nominated artist of all time. She added that country music fans all over the world have been better for it."

In 1989, 1990, and 2013, George Strait won the entertainer of the year award, and throughout his career, he has over 20 platinum or multi-platinum albums, 60 No. 1 singles, and is the only artist in history to have a top 10 hit every year for over 30 years. In 2024, Strait broke the record for concert attendance in Texas, with over 110,000 people at his show.

How to watch the 2024 CMA Awards

The 2024 Country Music Awards will occur on Wednesday, November 20th at 8 p.m. ET and are predicted to last three hours, concluding at 11 p.m.

The award show will be live-blogged by Planet Chronicle Digital, providing readers with real-time updates on the event, which will also be broadcast on ABC and available on Hulu the next day.

The Country Music Association was established in 1967, and the first CMA Awards were held a decade later in 1967. The show, however, was not broadcast nationwide until 1968.

The show initially aired on NBC but later shifted to ABC in 2006 and is still running on the network.
