Sundance Head's life flashed before his eyes during a hunting trip mishap.
In 2016, Blake Shelton's team member won season 11 of 'The Voice'.
Sundance Head believed he wouldn't survive after accidentally shooting himself with his own gun while going on a hunting trip alone on his Texas ranch.
The country star, 46, told Planet Chronicle Digital that during his helicopter flight to the hospital after being shot, he was in a different location.
At one point during the flight, the head of the helicopter forgot he was in a helicopter and imagined he was surrounded by his children.
"He recounted the memory of the woman on the helicopter who saved his life, her name was Amy. He was praying to God during the flight, thinking he was going to die. The experience was terrifying."
On the helicopter flight, he realized that he wouldn't make it and thought it was the end of his ride on Earth. However, he experienced a profound peace and prayed to the Lord for salvation.
He stated that he prayed for his family's prosperity on Earth and for God to watch over his children so they may thrive, thinking, "I'll never see my family again."
Head also mused on the absurdity of his impending death resulting from such a bizarre and unforeseen accident.

For years, he carried a revolver for protection. While driving his Jeep to go hunting, he accidentally discharged the revolver, which he had placed on the passenger seat.
The holster of the revolver lacked a strap over the hammer.
"He explained that the pistol had fallen out of the scabbard [holster] because he wasn't paying attention when he put it in there. It hit the side of the passenger step on the Jeep and shot him in the stomach in a matter of seconds."
At first, Head claimed he was unaware that he had been shot.
"He said, "I reached down to feel my stomach and blood came out. I reached my hand in my pocket to call 911 with my telephone. It wasn't in my pocket and my pockets were full of blood. I immediately started to panic.""
He was still in shock when he admitted to trying to duct-tape his wound and then ran out to the highway to seek assistance.
"A dozen or more cars passed me by on the highway, and I was sure I was going to die. I was bleeding out, and I had blood in my shoes. I didn't know what to do."
An ambulance was called for the injured man, but he opted to take a helicopter to the hospital instead of going to the sheriff's office.
Sundance Head, the winner of 'The Voice,' experienced a life-threatening accident during a hunting trip.
He stated that, despite carrying the revolver for years, he has never encountered any issues with it and has never had to utilize it.
"I carry a gun with me because I have cash and we carry a lot of equipment. Although it's unlikely that I would ever need it, I have a habit of carrying it. It was with me when I went hunting, and even though it's highly unlikely, it happened that one time. It was a life-changing experience that changed my perspective."
He stated that he has been sober for two years and has discovered a place in his life where he is proud of his identity as a person and feels healed and whole in his spirit. As a result, he thought, "What a perfect time to leave, what a perfect time to go."
The bullet that entered his body missed all vital organs and lodged itself between his lung and heart, so doctors decided not to perform surgery and leave the bullet inside.
After returning from the hospital, he stated that he had only recently begun to leave his bed and become mobile.
"He explained that it's not just the location of the gunshot wound in his stomach that causes pain, but also the extreme soreness and swelling throughout his body."
He said he also wants to find the Good Samaritans who helped him.
"My first priority is to return to town and locate those individuals who saved my life. I would love nothing more than to give them a hug and express my gratitude with the words, "Thank you, man." There is no doubt in my mind that if I had not received their assistance, I would have perished on Highway 84."
After calling 911, his first thought was that he needed to speak with his wife because he believed he was going to perish.
Despite his confusion, he mistakenly gave the Good Samaritans his own phone number to contact instead of his wife's, but eventually they were able to reach her.
"And I told her, ‘Hey, listen, I've been shot. I love you. They're taking me to the trauma center. I just want you to know that I love you, and you mean everything to me.’ And that was all I could say, man." — Sundance Head of calling his wife after he was shot
