Steve Guttenberg assists Palisades firefighters during a blaze, saying, "It's a ghost town."
Thousands of people, including James Woods, evacuated due to the 1,200-acre Palisades Fire, while Jennifer Lopez's 'Unstoppable' premiere was canceled.
Steve Guttenberg assisted firefighters and moved stranded cars on Sunset Boulevard, as residents fled the fire, according to an exclusive interview with Planet Chronicle Digital. "It's like Zombieland," he said, describing the abandoned cars scattered throughout the street.
James Woods expressed gratitude to first responders in social media posts for safeguarding his community before evacuating his home as the Palisades Fire blazed through the hills behind his property.
In the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles, a wildfire ignited on Tuesday morning, and 77-year-old Woods captured images of the blaze as he evacuated. He kept his fans updated throughout the day as the flames came close to his own home, reaching "two houses" away.
The Palisades Fire, which started near the southeast side of Palisades Drive, grew to about 200 acres and led to evacuation orders being issued.
Guttenberg, famous for his roles in "Police Academy" and "Three Men and a Baby," advised those abandoning their vehicles during evacuation to also leave their keys, allowing fire crews to access them.
Actor Steve Guttenberg assists Palisades firefighters during a blaze, saying, "It's a ghost town."
"Guttenberg told Planet Chronicle Digital that people abandon their cars, causing a crisis, and they don't leave their keys in their cars. As a result, fire trucks can't get up the street because they have all these abandoned cars with no ability to move them. Guttenberg was helping out by moving cars and putting them up on the hill to clear the way for the fire department."
The Palisades' biggest fire was observed by Guttenberg, who described it as "enormous."
"I was able to make it up here, sort of a pocket where there is no fire. So everybody's safe, and I just wanted to see what I can do to help out some of my neighbors, but it's a ghost town." — Steve Guttenberg
"This is the largest fire we've had, and it's burning out of control in some areas," he said. "I managed to reach this area, which is a pocket where there is no fire. Everyone is safe, and I just wanted to help out some of my neighbors. However, it's a ghost town."
James Woods, an actor, recorded the fire's progress throughout the day and expressed gratitude to the authorities for their assistance in aiding the community.

We were fortunate to have the LA fire and police departments performing their duties exceptionally well," Woods wrote. "We are now safe and have evacuated. Our neighborhood contains several elementary schools, and there was a massive community effort to ensure the safe evacuation of the children.
"Can not speak more highly of the LA fire and LAPD."
Planet Chronicle Digital contacted Woods' representative for comment.
"Preparing to evacuate from my driveway, Woods stated in a clip shared on X. 'We've got a lot of planes flying overhead, dropping water, but…'"
A video by Woods showed flames on a hillside near a home. It's uncertain if the property in the video was damaged by the fire.
In another post, he wrote about the heavy smoke covering the sky and hoped everyone would get out safely.
In a video shared on X, Woods displayed flames near his home's deck an hour later, along with footage from one of his security cameras.
At 4 p.m., he thanked "the wonderful people who've reached out to us" in another post on X. He expressed gratitude for their concern and informed them that they were able to evacuate successfully. However, he admitted that he did not yet know if their home was still standing, as houses on their little street had not fared well.
His neighbor's house caught fire, but they were safely evacuated, he also noted.

To ensure safety, Amazon Studios canceled the premiere of Jennifer Lopez's latest film, "Unstoppable," as the fire grew in size.
Due to safety concerns related to increased wind activity and fires in Los Angeles, the studio has announced the cancellation of tonight's premiere of 'Unstoppable,' as confirmed in a statement with Planet Chronicle Digital.
"Although we were eager to share this uplifting movie with you, our top concern is ensuring your safety."
A "life-threatening, destructive, widespread windstorm" is expected Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning, and an extreme wildfire threat covers much of Southern California through Wednesday, according to Los Angeles forecasters at the National Weather Service.
