Sammy Hagar 'got it right' by always being with his wife and taking his kids on tour.
In 1995, Kari Karte became Sammy Hagar's wife.
Almost 30 years have passed since Sammy Hagar and his wife Kari Karte tied the knot.
This week, the former Van Halen frontman, 76, revealed to Planet Chronicle Digital that he maintained a strong marriage by taking his wife on tour with him early on, and their two kids soon joined them.
Hagar explained Tuesday that his wife goes everywhere with him and they are together 24/7.
"Having a partner to share in the joy of life is essential to me," he stated in his speech. "I don't want to experience the happiness of a beautiful home, fast cars, and walking on a beautiful beach alone. I want to share that experience with someone I love and cherish, and that someone is Kari."
Karte and Hagar, 57, have been married since 1995. They are the parents of two daughters, Kama, 28, and Samantha, 23.
Hagar revealed to Planet Chronicle Digital that he would take his kids on road trips, but sometimes he wouldn't tour during winter because his kids were in school. He added with a chuckle, "I did it right."
Hagar, in addition to having two sons, Andrew and Aaron, with his first wife, also has two other children.

Last year, Andrew, 39, shared with Planet Chronicle Digital how amazing his dad is. He expressed how supportive and kind his father has been, and how much of a great human being he is.
In a 2005 episode of "I Married...," Hagar and Karte discussed their relationship.
"Karte recounted on the VH1 show how he met Sammy in the early 1990s on a Van Halen tour and how they instantly clicked and became friends."
Hagar admitted that he attempted to make advances on her later, but she had obligations and left. They reunited at a Van Halen concert.
Karte chuckled as he recalled the time when all these people gathered to see him, and he appeared to be looking over at him. His friends later said that he liked him, but Karte dismissed it as nonsense.
After being apart for several days, Hagar found herself frequently preoccupied with thoughts of him.
On their wedding day, Hagar admitted to being "nervous" and "shaking in my boots," but his bride had a "biggest smile on her face."
Last November, on their anniversary, Hagar honored their relationship with a montage of photos of the couple and their family, set to the tune of Van Halen's "When It's Love" on social media.
""33 years ago, we embarked on a journey to the Cosmos aboard a spaceship or UFO. We are still traveling at light speed in the light where love lives. Happy anniversary and beyond, Kari. My partner, my lover, my friend," he wrote in his post."
