'Ryan Seacrest reveals the one task he is unable to perform while hosting 'Wheel of Fortune'.'
In the fall of 2024, the game show will be hosted by the 'American Idol' host.
Ryan Seacrest is fully conscious of the immense responsibility he bears in replacing Pat Sajak as the host of "Wheel of Fortune."
"He has greatly influenced the country and has become a close friend to many people," Seacrest stated during the "American Idol" Top 10 Tastemaker Event at the Aster hotel in Hollywood.
"Pat is a total pro, and I have immense respect and admiration for his accomplishments."
Seacrest stated that although he aims to put his unique twist on the popular show, there is one thing he won't attempt. "Nobody can replace him. I simply want to join in and have fun with the contestants."
Last year, after 43 years and 41 seasons on "Wheel of Fortune," Sajak announced his retirement.
"Sajak announced in June 2023 that the 41st season, which starts in September, will be his final. He expressed gratitude to his fans and stated that he would share more in the upcoming months. He added that the clickbait sites would have plenty to keep busy with."
Later that same month, Seacrest was announced as Sajak’s replacement.
"Seacrest expressed his gratitude in a statement, saying, "I am honored to follow in the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak. Like the rest of America, I have been privileged to watch Pat and Vanna on our screens for 40 years, and their presence has brought joy and comfort to our homes every night.""
"I appreciate how you've consistently made contestants and viewers feel comfortable during the contest. I eagerly anticipate learning from you during this transition period."
Sajak recorded his last show in May, and it will be aired on June 7th, the same day as the season 41 finale, as reported by Deadline.
This month, a 10-second clip was aired, giving fans their first glimpse of Seacrest on set. In the clip, he is seen walking near where the contestants stand, looking around in amazement and exclaiming, "Wow!"
Ryan is told by Vanna White, "You're ready, looks like!" as his name appears on the board.
Vanna White and Ryan Seacrest will host 'Wheel of Fortune' together this fall.
American Idol" featured White in a recent episode, which was promoted on Seacrest's Instagram as "The TV crossover you didn't know you needed.
He also called her "legendary," exclaiming, "Get ready for some exciting things!"
In a behind-the-scenes clip shared by White on her Instagram, Judge Luke Bryan joked about her working with Seacrest, saying, "Are you ready to tolerate him?"
Fellow judge Lionel Richie noted he and White started out in entertainment together.
Richie assured that both of them would have a great time.
Since 2002, Seacrest has hosted "American Idol" and accumulated various hosting jobs, such as "Live with Kelly and Ryan," "E! News," and "Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve." However, he is eager to try something new.
"The main focus of 'The Voice Kids' is having fun on stage. While 'Wheel of Fortune' and 'American Idol' offer cash and prizes, 'The Voice Kids' provides a chance for a future in music. I am thrilled about it!"
At the moment, "American Idol" is not losing Seacrest, but judge Katy Perry is leaving the show at the end of the season.
Seacrest stated that the show was blessed with a generous, loving, and compassionate spirit, which he hoped would inspire others to follow suit.
The 49-year-old said he didn’t know who was replacing Perry.
""A few individuals on the short list could be excellent, but we must make the decision promptly," he stated."
As "Idol" approaches the end of the season and the top 10 contestants are chosen, Seacrest confessed that it's becoming increasingly difficult to predict which musical aspirants will make it through.
"I can't pick favorites because I have to stand next to them every week," he said when asked if he saw a frontrunner.
"Although it was difficult for me to say goodbye to two, the two eliminated tonight were exceptional. It's challenging to comprehend how and why they were eliminated, but it must be done, and we must proceed."
