Rare photo of Bruce Willis battling dementia shared by daughters.
In 2023, Willis' family disclosed his diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia.
Bruce Willis seems to be feeling the love.
Scout and Tallulah Willis shared photos of Bruce sitting on a couch with Scout by his side and Tallulah at his feet on Thanksgiving.
He clutched a personalized name plate that read "Best Dad Ever" as a gift.
One photo shows Scout with her arm around him, smiling at her while Tallulah holds onto his ear.
Scout and Tallulah both smile at him, with Scout pressing her forehead against his and Tallulah smiling up at him.
Both sisters posted the same caption with the photos: "Grateful."
Bruce's family, consisting of Scout, Tallulah, Rumer, Mabel, and Evelyn, has rarely shared photos of the actor in the past two years due to his health struggles.
In March 2022, Bruce retired from the spotlight after being diagnosed with aphasia, a language disorder that affected his cognitive abilities.
In February, the family posted on social media that his condition had advanced and he was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.
"Unfortunately, the disease Bruce faces presents with challenges in communication, among other symptoms. However, receiving a clear diagnosis brings relief."
In a recent interview with Town & Country, Heming revealed that Bruce's problems stemmed from language.
"As a child, he had a severe stutter," she said. "Bruce has always had a stutter, but he has been good at covering it up. As his language started changing, it seemed like it was just a part of a stutter, it was just Bruce."
In college, he discovered that reciting a script helped him overcome his stutter, which led him to pursue acting.
She confessed that she never imagined someone so young could have dementia.
In September, Bruce's health was updated by Tallulah on the "Today" show.
"Although it's difficult, he's doing well, which is good in this situation. There are painful days, but there's also a lot of love, and it's taught me to appreciate every moment. I believe we'd make great friends. I think he's proud of me."
Moore, who has remained close to Bruce following their divorce in 2000, frequently shares the sentiment that when spending time with him now, "You have to be in the moment. You have to be present."
Moore stated at the 2024 Hamptons International Film Festival in October, "I've said this before. The disease is what the disease is. You have to accept it deeply."
""I always suggest meeting people where they are, as holding onto the past can be a losing game," she said."
"When you meet them where they are, there is great beauty and sweetness."
