Prince Harry respects Prince William and refuses to end their feud, says expert.
The relationship between Prince of Wales and Prince Harry has been tense since the Duke of Sussex left the royal family with Meghan Markle.
The future king isn’t in a forgiving mood.
Despite ongoing health challenges, Prince Harry's strained relationship with his family remains unresolved, and peace talks with his brother, Prince William, are reportedly no closer.
Christopher Andersen, author of "The King," has been saying for months that William will not lower the drawbridge for Harry anytime soon, as he claimed to Planet Chronicle Digital.
"The Prince of Wales is expected to command respect as the heir to the throne, and his loyalty is expected on a personal level, Andersen claimed."
"William not only expects loyalty from his brother on a very personal level, but he commands respect as the heir to the throne." — Christopher Andersen, author of "The King."
Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, stated that Andersen had cut ties with his younger brother, which prompted Andersen to make his claims.
"The royal author stated in an interview with the U.K.'s Mirror that William is a sensitive individual who appreciates structure and possesses perseverance. He does not give up easily."
"Seward admitted that his relationship with his brother Harry causes him more distress than he is willing to admit. However, he found it easier to sever ties than to endure constant irritation."
Andersen agreed.
William has found it easier to shut out Harry due to the pressure of dealing with his wife's and father's cancer diagnoses, Andersen stated. Queen Elizabeth was able to do it, and the king has shown no interest in making amends with Harry. In fact, it seems as if the cancer diagnoses have made it easier for William to distance himself from his brother.
"The illness has not brought the brothers together, but instead has driven them further apart."
"William believes that making peace with Harry is not beneficial at this time, as it would require extensive negotiation and compromise. Both parties would need to take responsibility and offer apologies, which seems unlikely to happen soon."
A royal expert claimed that William was banning Harry from the royal fold, but a spokesperson for Kensington Palace did not respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's initial request for comment.
In February, Harry hurried to London for a brief visit following the diagnosis of King Charles with an unspecified type of cancer. It is believed that William had no intention of meeting with Harry during that time.
Since the prince left royal duties in 2020 and moved to California with his wife, Meghan Markle, Harry, 39, has had limited contact with his father. He has shared details about his strained relationship with his family in various interviews, a documentary, and his memoir, "Spare."
Harry, who recently traveled to London, shared on "Good Morning America" that he believed his father's ailment could strengthen his family's bond.
In "Spare," Harry details his rivalry with William, 42.
In the book, Harry claimed that in 2019, William referred to Meghan as "difficult" and "rude," and then grabbed him by the collar and knocked him down. Harry sustained injuries, including cuts and bruises, when he landed on a dog bowl. After the death of his father, Prince Philip, in 2021, the king pleaded with his brothers to reconcile and not make his final years a source of misery.
Andersen said the sibling rivalry has been decades in the making.
"According to Andersen, the boys' granny, Queen Elizabeth II, paid more attention to William than to Harry, which made Harry feel dissed. Since they were in a unique position as Diana's sons, they were treated as equals by their mother. As a result, Harry never bowed down to William's authority to the extent that the Prince of Wales wanted him to."
Helena Chard, a British photographer and broadcaster, stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that it is not too late for the brothers to reconcile. However, she emphasized that the journey towards peace would not be an easy one for Harry.
An expert believes that Prince Harry and Prince William need an intervention to end their feud.
"Although the Sussexes have lost their royal titles, Prince Harry and his children remain in the line of succession. Prince Harry holds the title of Counsellor of State. However, reconciliation between the brothers is unlikely to happen anytime soon as Parliament has not indicated any changes to this."
"Prince Harry and Meghan have been criticized for attacking their family with a series of explosive public claims, according to Chard. While uncomfortable conversations are acceptable, the couple's actions have caused significant damage and hurt to their family and have resulted in a loss of fans and the creation of enemies. The negativity surrounding Prince Harry seems to be persisting, and there is little chance of reconciliation without a sincere apology."
"Prince William has decided to detach himself from Prince Harry for the sake of the monarchy and his family, as there is no trust between the brothers and Harry has violated family etiquette and protocol, according to Chard."
Prince Harry and Prince William are living in different worlds and are on different paths, and things will not change unless a larger force requires change, as Chard stated.
William has been protecting his family as they combat health woes.
In March, Kate Middleton, his wife, disclosed in a video message that she has cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy. This announcement followed months of speculation on social media, beginning in January when she was hospitalized for unspecified abdominal surgery.
Kate requested "time, space, and privacy" during her cancer treatment, which was discovered after a "major" surgery.
After taking a break due to his cancer diagnosis in early February, the 75-year-old king has been busy with public duties.
While Andersen stated that Harry desires peace talks with his family, the royals prioritize safeguarding the king and Princess of Wales from any drama.
"Andersen stated that it is certain that the royals want to keep Kate and the king away from any additional stress, which involves keeping them at a distance from the Harry and Meghan sideshow."
