Pamela Anderson believes that wearing makeup is unnecessary.
Anderson, 57, frequently goes makeup-free on the red carpet.
Despite being stripped of its shimmer and sparkle, Pamela Anderson's personal canvas still radiates light.
The famous actress, 57, who is renowned for her flashy makeup and tight clothing, has recently adopted a natural look on the red carpet, confessing that makeup no longer suits her lifestyle.
Anderson stated at the Gotham Awards in New York City Monday night, where she was a nominee for her role in "The Last Showgirl," that she felt the film didn't make sense to her personally.
"Living your dreams and being brave," is what the "Baywatch" actress considers to be the essence of beauty. "It's never too late."
In August 2023, Anderson revealed to Elle that her transformation was partly due to a devastating loss. After the passing of her makeup artist, Alexis Vogel, in 2019, who succumbed to breast cancer, Anderson's appearance underwent a change.
"Vogel was the best," she declared. "And since then, I've realized that without Alexis, it's better for me not to wear makeup," she admitted, acknowledging that her famous look had been curated by others.
The change was described by Anderson as "liberating, enjoyable, and slightly defiant."
"I noticed that many people were doing elaborate makeup looks, and I decided to go against the trend and do the opposite. I think we all start to look a little funny as we age, and I can't help but laugh at myself when I look in the mirror. I go, 'Wow, this is really... what's happening to me?' It's a journey."
"The '90s was the '90s, and now it's 2023. I don't know, I like to do things that are different," she told "Entertainment Tonight" months later, of her transition away from bold makeup in favor of a more natural look. "This is a new chapter of my life, and I don't know. Natural beauty still takes us two hours in front of a mirror," she joked.
Anderson appeared at the Victoria Beckham show and reiterated her stance on chasing youth. "It's pointless to pursue youth," she declared. "You'll never achieve it. So why not accept what's happening and embrace it? Since I've left the door as myself, I feel liberated. It's like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. And I prefer it this way. I'm dressing for myself now, not for others."
