On Christmas Eve, a Houston bartender and single mother received a $20,000 tip from Post Malone.
On Christmas Eve, Post Malone spent time at a bar in Texas with his companions.
Santa Claus wasn't the only one shelling out gifts on Christmas Eve.
On a day that began unusually, rapper Post Malone surprised Renee Brown, a single mother and bartender at The Railyard bar in Houston, Texas, with an enormous tip, reminiscent of Kris Kringle's generosity.
Iliana is Brown's 9-year-old daughter, and her holiday plans were different from her usual routine.
She shared with Music Mayem magazine that her usual routine involves baking cookies and watching Christmas movies, but this year was the first time she couldn't participate in those activities.
She works two jobs and homeschools her daughter, constantly feeling exhausted. For two years, they've been without a car. After losing everything and starting over from scratch in August 2024, they recently moved.
Brown recounted how the day began slowly, and she tried to maintain a positive attitude despite not being able to spend Christmas Eve with her daughter. However, things took a turn when Post Malone, whose real name is Austin Post, arrived at her bar with friends and fellow musician, Shaboozey, for a peaceful evening.
I didn't initially realize [Malone] was there until one of my coworkers from my second job came inside and told me that Austin was outside on the patio. At first, I thought he was joking with me, but I kept seeing people go outside, and after making drinks for 30 minutes, my curiosity got the best of me, and lo and behold, he was there.
"I informed my regulars to refrain from acting strangely and harassing him because it's a local dive bar, and I believe he chose it to experience a sense of familiarity."
The "Circles" singer's presence caused the Railyard, a straightforward establishment without pretensions, to change.
"It was incredible to witness everyone's happiness and kindness towards each other, especially towards those who spend time with me regularly," she remarked. "The people he was with were also kind and welcoming. We had a fantastic evening dancing to songs on the jukebox."
Despite the initial positive vibes in the room, things improved even more for Brown.
Brown revealed that when Austin requested his bill, he didn't have one because many regulars and his friends had bought his drinks. Despite this, the rapper wanted to tip Brown and requested that he be charged for something.
"I rang him up for a penny or anything he asked, and then I continued with my close and collected all my checks. After that, I entered my tips and got to his tip, which was for 20,000 dollars."
Malone's gift was genuinely life-changing for Brown, who was working two jobs and already feeling overwhelmed on a very emotional night away from home.
This has allowed me to commute to work, pay my rent, and save some money towards starting my own business. I'm grateful for this opportunity as it enables me to spend more quality time with my daughter. Despite the challenges I've faced, this experience has been a true blessing that I can't fully express. The visit itself was incredible and something I will cherish forever.
"Brown expressed her gratitude to Malone, despite crying and thanking him profusely, as she had no idea how much it meant to her."
Brown posted pictures of her and the rapper on Instagram, stating that the artist was "absolutely the most humble and personable celebrity" she had ever met.
Although she thanked Malone in person, Brown reiterated her appreciation in the interview. "If this message reaches him, I know I thanked him that night, but I’d like to reiterate that he helped me in ways I can’t even begin to explain," she said. "My best friend [Matthew] and I have been huge fans of him for years, and it was amazing we got to meet him and experience that moment."
The singer's representative did not respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's request for comment regarding the upcoming tour with Jelly Roll starting in April.
