Olivia Rodrigo reveals she was held and questioned by customs officials.
Rodrigo's 'Guts World Tour' is currently on pause until March 2025.
Olivia Rodrigo had a scary run-in with Border Patrol.
The singer was almost arrested when she attempted to reenter the United States during her tour.
On Tuesday, the Disney Channel star who is now a pop star shared the frightening experience.
"On "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon," a 21-year-old admitted to getting into legal trouble for the first time in their life."
Rodrigo, who has been traveling globally since February as part of her "Guts World Tour," says the incident occurred while she was departing from Canada.
"We were traveling from Canada to either Portland or something else when we arrived at border control. They asked for my passport and responded with an indifferent "OK, whatever.""
But then things changed.
"They knock on the door and exclaim, 'We need Olivia!'"
Rodrigo, after completing a series of performances, considered the possibility that a border control officer may have a daughter who would appreciate an autograph.
"She recounted how she was taken to an interrogation room at 3 a.m., while delirious, and an armed officer was waiting for her inside. The officer asked her if she had ever been arrested, to which she replied that she hadn't. However, the officer questioned her about her certainty."
Rodrigo's statement about the officer's persistence made her doubt herself, thinking, "Maybe I was arrested and didn't realize it."
"He scared me," she said. "He's like, 'You know you could go to jail for lying to a federal officer like this. Like, this is really bad.'"
The pop star was terrified and experiencing a panic attack when she thought she wouldn't be allowed into America.
"He scared me. He's like, ‘You know you could go to jail for lying to a federal office like this. Like, this is really bad.'" — Olivia Rodrigo
"Thirty minutes later, he turns to me and asks, 'What is your name?'"
"She remembered, 'And I go ‘Olivia Rodrigo. R-O-D-R-I-G-O,’" and he replied, "He's like, ‘Oh, there's a girl who looks just like you, that's your same age, that's been arrested multiple times, and her name is Olivia Rodriguez.'"
The "bad idea, right?" singer was not pleased.
She was furious and questioned why border control didn't pay more attention to her name. However, she concluded that the crisis had been averted.
Rodrigo's representative did not promptly respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's request for additional details.
The singer has faced challenges during her tour, including tripping and falling into a hole on stage in Melbourne, Australia earlier this month.
Fallon showed the audience a video of the accident and she said, "It was really scary."

"The video was quite frightening. Nonetheless, the show must continue. That's showbiz, baby."
Rodrigo was fortunate to have a positive outlook on the accident, stating that she was actually "really happy it happened in hindsight." The singer was taken to the hospital after her concert for precautionary reasons to check for a concussion. The nurse assigned to her was a Filipino man with the same name as her grandfather, who recently passed away. Prior to her shows in Australia, Rodrigo had been performing in the Philippines, where her family emigrated from years ago.
"Wow, that was him looking out for me, making sure I didn't get hurt. And so I'm really happy it happened. I think it's a beautiful story."
