In an unexpected disclosure, Nicole Eggert shared details about her time on the popular TV show "Baywatch."
For over a decade, viewers worldwide watched the "Baywatch" lifeguards in red swimsuits run in slow motion on California's sun-soaked beaches. Despite the show's idyllic portrayal of the weather, Eggert, 52, revealed to Planet Chronicle Digital that the lifeguards often experienced freezing temperatures during filming.

Eggert stated, "Being on the beach is the most amazing job in the world, but the cold days, freezing days, and rainy days make you question your decision and wonder what you got yourself into."

The actress, who is currently fighting cancer, portrayed Summer Quinn on two seasons of "Baywatch" from 1992 to 1994. The popular beach drama series, which aired from 1989 to 2001, boasted an impressive ensemble cast, including David Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson, Michael Newman, Alexandra Paul, Jeremy Jackson, Gregory Alan Williams, David Chokachi, Parker Stevenson, Geena Lee Nolan, Billy Warlock, Erika Eleniak, David Charvet, and Yasmine Bleeth, among others.

"Baywatch" was mainly filmed at Santa Monica's Will Rogers State Beach, with some scenes shot in Long Beach and Malibu. In season 10, the show was renamed "Baywatch: Hawaii," and the production relocated to the islands from 1999 to 2001.
Despite being canceled by NBC after one season in 1989 due to low ratings and high production costs, "Baywatch" was later revived through syndication and eventually became a massive ratings success and cultural sensation.
The series was the most-watched show globally, with 1.1 billion viewers weekly, during its peak popularity, as per Forbes.
Baywatch" led to the creation of "Baywatch Nights" and three direct-to-video films, including "Baywatch the Movie: Forbidden Paradise," "Baywatch: White Thunder at Glacier Bay," and "Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding.
In 2017, "Baywatch" was remade into a movie of the same name, featuring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Zac Efron, and Alexandra Daddario, with Hasselhoff and Anderson reprising their original roles. The film was a commercial success, grossing $177.9 million in worldwide ticket sales.
In March 2021, Fox Entertainment and Fremantle revealed a TV reboot of "Baywatch," with Lara Olsen as the writer and showrunner.
Eggert, a former child actor who had recurring roles in "T.J. Hooker" and "Who's the Boss" and starred in "Charles in Charge," revealed the reason behind her departure from "Baywatch" after its fourth season while speaking with the Los Angeles Daily News.

Eggert discussed her views on the differences between '90s celebrity life and current star culture during her interview with Planet Chronicle Digital.
"She remarked that the term 'celebrity' is used more broadly now, including a wider range of individuals."

"The 90s are cool again, so it's a fun time for me," she said with a laugh.
"Baywatch: Moment in the Sun," a Hulu docuseries, was recently produced by Eggert. The series explores the journey of the show from becoming an international sensation to the challenges faced by the actors after their sudden rise to fame. Hulu states that the series includes exclusive home videos and interviews with over 35 cast members and creators.
In December 2023, Eggert was diagnosed with Stage 2 cribriform carcinoma breast cancer while working on "Baywatch: Moment in the Sun."
Eggert revealed in an August interview with People that her work on the docuseries and her daughter Keegan have been sources of motivation for her during her cancer battle.
Eggert, a mother of a 25-year-old daughter, revealed that having both a young daughter and a project has been a great source of motivation for her to prioritize her health and wellbeing.
"My daughters kept me on my toes, and the timing of life is always for a reason. It's been a great distraction and has given me purpose, keeping me driven every day."
Eggert underwent a mastectomy after receiving her diagnosis, and she recently started her radiation therapy after completing chemotherapy earlier this year.
During her health struggles, Eggert's "Baywatch" co-stars supported her. She was shooting "Baywatch: Moment in the Sun" while undergoing treatment, and many of her cast members made appearances in the docuseries.
""I was in touch with most of the cast and many of them have been extremely supportive. Alexandra Paul, Brande Roderick, Gina Lee, Erika Eleniak, David Chokachi are among those who check on me and ensure I'm okay. It's lovely," she said."
The actress pondered on the counsel she would offer her younger self.
""Go live life with no fear," she advised."
You don't have to be scared and hold things in. You don't have to cover up for things and pretend everything is okay.
Nicole Eggert, known for her role on 'Baywatch,' shares advice she'd give her younger self.
"Embracing the darkness and turning it into light is a liberating experience. It's not a big deal," she said.
"I wish I had started having this much fun earlier, as our time here is limited."
