Nick Cannon seeks assistance as he works through his recovery after being diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder.
'The Masked Singer' host disclosed that he has been 'diagnosed' with a mental health disorder.
Nick Cannon is making a vulnerable admission about his mental health.
Cannon, 44, revealed that he was previously diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder and the measures he has taken to recover.
Cannon admitted to People magazine that while he still doesn't fully grasp it, he has always wanted to be tested for it and that he has already undergone several tests.
He was diagnosed with ADHD and had dyslexia as a child. Despite this, he always knew he was a neurodivergent individual.
The host of "The Masked Singer" confessed that he has proactively sought assistance and maintained a positive outlook regarding his diagnosis.
"There are numerous labels out there, but embracing mental health and therapy with a strong sense of self-healing can be empowering. It's important to be an example for others while also going through the healing process."
Earlier this month, Cannon disclosed that he had been "diagnosed" with narcissistic personality disorder.
In an episode of his "Counsel Culture Show", he discussed his diagnosis with Dr. Cheyenne Bryant, a doctor of psychology.
Cannon characterized his mental health condition as a "spectrum," with initial symptoms including "confidence, overconfidence, and arrogance." However, if the condition is severe, individuals may experience a "lack of empathy and rage."
He admitted that he does not possess "lack of empathy" and "rage," but identifies with all other characteristics.
"I've removed all power from the term 'narcissism' because I've studied it and comprehend it," Cannon stated. "You can call me anything you want... but if I didn't understand it, I would have a problem with it."
Cannon shared how he grew up in a Christian household and how he can "do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."
Cannon, who previously stated that he had "manifestations or visions" from God indicating a bountiful brood, is the father of 12 children with six different women.
He explained on a podcast with Dr. Laura Berman in June that he would have unclear visions surrounding fatherhood, which were fragmented or came in pieces.
Is it like the father Abraham conversation, where God promised him that he would make him "exceedingly fruitful"? he questioned, referencing the biblical story.
"I've never heard that level of clarity, but I heard that like, "You're going to be a father of many, and your great influence, lineage, and offspring will do great things." I've experienced that, and I'm like, "Well, the more the merrier." We roll the dice to determine the name and what we will create."
In December 2022, Cannon welcomed his 12th child, a daughter named Halo Marie, with Alyssa Scott. The couple is also the parents of son Zen, who passed away in 2021 at 5 months old.
He has two children with Mariah Carey, twins Moroccan and Monroe, and three children with Brittany Bell: Golden Sagon, Powerful Queen, and Rise Messiah.
Abby de la Rosa has three children with Cannon: Zion Mixolydian, Zillion Heir, and Beautiful Zeppelin.
Brie Tiesi and LaNisha Cole each have one child with him – Legendary Love and Onyx Ice, respectively.
