Nashville is Post Malone's preferred location over LA: "It's always like someone wants something from you"
On Friday, a country album titled 'F-1 Trillion' by Malone was made available to the public.
Post Malone is putting down roots in Music City.
The singer has been moving away from his rap and rock musical style towards a more country sound, resulting in the release of his first country album, "F-1 Trillion." This change has led him to forge connections in Nashville, Tennessee, where he seems to prefer living over Los Angeles.
Kelleigh Bannon for Apple Music discussed Nashville, saying, "I feel so welcome and have made new friends in Nashville. It's really nice to build new stuff and be happy again."
He stated that L.A. is L.A., and while working in the city, he has always felt distracted. However, traveling to Nashville has been a refreshing change, as he has met individuals who excel in their field and possess exceptional kindness and talent.
Malone recorded his new album in Nashville with other country artists, including collaborations with Dolly Parton, Tim McGraw, Morgan Wallen, and Jelly Roll.
In L.A., he said, "It's always like someone wants something from you. That's something I didn't see often in Nashville."
He added, "I'm sure it's somewhere; it's just I think I found a group of really, really good folks. It was such a fresh thing going and watching this band and writing with new people, and I'm so f---ing pumped."
"It's really nice meeting people in Nashville that made me feel so welcome and new friends and kind of building new stuff, and for once I'm not sad anymore. I'm happy, very happy." — Post Malone
In L.A., he stated that although there is always something to do, which isn't negative, it is not conducive to a work environment for him at least.
Malone, who is a father to a 2-year-old daughter, stated that after becoming a parent, he no longer feels the desire to engage in all the activities that L.A. has to offer. He revealed that prior to having her, he was able to "go out and then come back and then work," but now he simply wants to "go jam and just make music" without any distractions.
Bannon informed him that he witnessed him at Stagecoach in April, during his first country music festival performance, and appeared to be enjoying himself.
"He confessed that he was extremely content."
Although the roots he has been laying in Nashville have contributed to his happiness, he believes it was his daughter and fiancée who saved his life.
"In a recent interview with CBS, Malone stated that four years ago, he was on a difficult journey. When asked about the challenges he faced, he replied, "It was everything. It was terrible.""
Despite his success, he confessed that loneliness often affected his daily routine.
"Malone stated, "I used to get up, have a good cry, drink, and then live my life. But now, whenever I lay down, I drink and cry some more, feeling like I have to wake up tomorrow and repeat the cycle. However, I no longer feel that way, and it's the most amazing thing.""
The experience was humbling and somewhat necessary.
Malone stated, "I had to determine who I am for my own sake."
