At the award show on FOX, which aired Thursday and was previously recorded, the country music star won four awards, including top country artist, top male artist, top country male artist, and top collaboration, for his song "I Had Some Help," featuring Post Malone.
In his acceptance speech, Wallen thanked his fans for consistently giving his music a chance.
""I wanted to express my gratitude to all those who have supported me throughout my journey, especially my fans, who have given me the freedom to create music," he stated."
Thank you for always giving my music a chance, regardless of whether it's similar to my past work or completely different. I hope to come back next year and accept more awards, but for now, I am grateful. God bless you.
In 13 different categories, Wallen was nominated for 15 awards following his 11 wins at the previous year's award ceremony.
On Thursday afternoon, Wallen pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment in a courtroom prior to the airing of the award show. The charges are related to an incident in April where Wallen threw a chair off the sixth-floor bar owned by Eric Church, Chief's, in Nashville, Tennessee.
During a hearing on Tuesday, his charges were reduced from felonies to misdemeanors. He was originally accused of disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor, and three counts of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon.
Cynthia Chappell, the judge, sentenced Wallen to seven days at a DUI education center and two years of supervised probation.
On December 24th, 2024, in Davidson County Circuit Court, Morgan Wallen pleaded guilty to a conditional plea under Tennessee's Diversion Statute, which does not result in a conviction. This was announced by Wallen's lawyer, Worrick Robinson, in a statement shared with Planet Chronicle Digital.
Mr. Wallen must spend 7 days at a DUI Education Center, be on probation for 2 years, pay a $350 fine and court fees as part of his plea agreement with the Office of the District Attorney. After completing his probation, the charges will be eligible for dismissal and expungement.
"Mr. Wallen has been fully cooperative with authorities for the past eight months, directly communicating and expressing regret to those affected. He continues to be dedicated to making a positive impact through his music and foundation."
