Molly Sims is revealing her secrets for staying svelte.
The actress and supermodel, 51, shared her advice on preventing weight gain during the holiday season, which is the simplest time to put on pounds, with Planet Chronicle Digital.
The "Lipstick on the Rim" podcast host advises against attending a holiday party hungry and emphasizes the importance of being prepared beforehand.
She advises consuming a nonalcoholic drink between each alcoholic beverage at a party.
"She advises setting yourself up for success by consuming protein throughout the day and limiting carbs at night."
She adds, "The holiday season can be chaotic. With everyone out and about, drinking, and celebrating, there's a lot going on during the holidays."
Going to a gathering without being organized is a big thing, but it's also important not to go hungry as it can be tricky.
"It's not all or nothing. I think this is where we kind of get that mentality, right?" — Molly Sims
Her best advice is that "two bad nights does not lead to weight gain. It's just small amounts here and there."
Sims, a mother of three, advises against eating children's food and then eating your own food. This includes chicken fingers, pizza, pasta, fried tater tots, and leftover fries. It's important to be mindful of portion sizes and not overindulge.
She adds, "During the holidays, you become like cookies, brownies, and Christmas-decorated fudge brownies. It's like anything goes, and you don't even realize it. That's a big tip that has helped a lot of people."
Sims states that the advice assisted her because she would believe she was not overindulging, only to later realize "as if I've had a box of tater tots."
Sims uses exfoliating pads from her beauty company, YSE Beauty, to keep her skin healthy and her husband also uses them.
She says, 'It's getting all that sunscreen, sweat, and dirt off my beard.'
According to her, exfoliation is the most crucial element of a skincare regimen for both men and women.
Sims advises on improving sleep habits, stating that her approach has evolved with age and includes establishing routines, using high-quality pillowcases, keeping the environment cool, and utilizing blackouts or curtains.
She is a spokesperson for Natrol, a drug-free melatonin gummy that is easy to take and helps you fall asleep and stay asleep.
She claims that she dislikes taking pills before bed and that melatonin and magnesium have been two significant changes she's made in the past year.
I've been in different time zones, crazy, with three children and three companies. But blackouts. Let me tell you something; a blackout, melatonin. It's like a game changer. Don't underestimate the blackout.
Sims has been married to producer Scott Stuber for 13 years.
She reveals that the secret to her happy marriage is their ability to support each other. "It won't always be equal, but one of us will always be going through something or trying to figure something out," she says, emphasizing the importance of taking turns being there for each other.
She says, "I believe he enjoys my work. Although he won't admit it, I think it keeps me occupied. It keeps my mind sharp and energized."
She states that he appreciates her being an "involved mom" and acknowledges that she may share his love for sports, but she believes that being a parent and an entrepreneur can be challenging. However, she believes that their marriage thrives because he supports her and the children, and she reciprocates by showing up for them.
