'Meningitis' diagnosis of 'Bachelor' star attributed to 'unexpected' symptom
At San Diego State University, Daisy Kent contracted meningitis at the age of 19.
Daisy Kent, a former contestant on "The Bachelor," noticed one symptom before being diagnosed with meningitis, which made her realize her health was deteriorating.
Kent, 25, shared with Planet Chronicle Digital that she felt a "shocking pain" and knew something was "really wrong" during an interview.
""Growing up, I had a lot of sickness and couldn't turn my head, so I'm good at sensing when something is really wrong," she said, describing a shocking pain that went down her spine."
The meningitis battle of the reality television star was shared by her.
"Kent began by saying, "That was a very scary time in my life. Looking back, it's definitely, probably one of the most scary times in my life. One of the most scary times for my family, but, I got through it.""

Kent continued, "Although we may not always comprehend why things occur in the present, it's amazing how having this platform allows me to share my experiences and spread awareness about various topics, including my health struggles and how I've overcome them, turning them into positivity."
Kent, a freshman at San Diego State University and a contestant on season 28 of "The Bachelor," was diagnosed with meningitis at the age of 19 in 2023, as she shared in a TikTok video.
She stated that she went to bed at midnight and experienced a slight headache. However, she woke up at around 3 a.m., and her headache intensified, causing her to take a lot of Tylenol. Her headache was so severe that she couldn't open her eyes.
Her condition began to quickly get worse.
"Kent recounted in the video how he was unable to move any part of his body while lying in bed. A neighbor picked him up and carried him downstairs, and his roommate and her brother transported him to a different hospital."
Kent was eventually diagnosed with meningitis after undergoing a spinal tap and being treated in the ICU.
"Kent stated in her video that she was receiving a lot of morphine, which did not stop the pain. She had never experienced such intense pain before and believed she was going to die."
In 2017, several students at San Diego State University were diagnosed with meningitis, as reported by E! News.
Kent disclosed to Planet Chronicle Digital that she had been diagnosed with Lyme Disease, which, according to the Mayo Clinic, is an illness caused by borrelia bacteria and is usually transmitted through a tick bite carrying the bacteria.

Now, Kent's health is better than ever.
"I'm feeling great today. My health journey has taught me to be more careful about what I eat and do, and that's why I love cottage cheese. It's been a great addition to my diet. Currently, I'm doing well, feeling happy, and in good health."
Kent continued, "People often take health for granted until they experience something. However, we should appreciate it more because it's not always certain."
Daisy Brand recently named Kent as the face of their cottage cheese and sour cream brand. Kent shared with Planet Chronicle Digital that she has been consuming cottage cheese for many years, particularly when she was unwell, due to the abundance of ingredients in the milk product.
"Kent emphasized the importance of eating healthy and staying fit to Planet Chronicle Digital, stating, "Finding nutritious, protein-packed foods that benefit your body is crucial to me.""
"When you experience a similar situation as I did, where you couldn't get out of bed and were in a wheelchair for a few weeks, you come to appreciate the importance of being able to move your body. Similarly, when you're unable to eat and are fed through IVs, you realize the significance of getting your nutrition through a different method."
Kent concluded, "I believe that when my body is functioning well, it's important to treat it with love and provide it with nutritious things."
