Meghan Markle attends event amidst Prince Harry's divorce rumors.
In New York City, Prince Harry addressed rumors about his divorce from Meghan Markle.
On the same day that her royal husband addressed lingering divorce rumors, Meghan Markle hit Hollywood without her Prince Charming.
Markle attended the Paley Center Honors to support Perry, who was being recognized for his contribution to the entertainment industry. Perry had previously provided his Los Angeles home to Markle and Prince Harry after they stepped down from their role as senior royals in 2020. Perry is also Lilibet's godfather.
In July, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were named tribute chairs for the event, alongside a host of celebrities. Markle looked stunning in a black strapless gown, adorned with a diamond necklace, as she posed for photos both alone and with Perry.
The event at The Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, 3,000 miles away from The New York Times DealBook Summit at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City, where Prince Harry was present.
The prince discussed openly about Markle and their separate events, including rumors he has heard about their potential divorce, which occurred in 2018.
"It seems we've bought or moved house 10, 12 times," he joked. "We've apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well... So it's just like, what?"
"He admitted that it's difficult to keep up with, but that's why he ignores it. He feels sorry for the trolls whose hopes are constantly built up, only to be disappointed. He genuinely feels sorry for them."
Prince Harry stated that he plans to remain in the United States with his family because he believes he can provide a better upbringing for his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, than he could in the United Kingdom.
