Megan Moroney denies rumors of a romance with Morgan Wallen.
There are rumors that Morgan Wallen is the subject of Moroney's song 'Tennessee Orange'.
Megan Moroney disclosed details about her past romance with Morgan Wallen.
On the "Call Her Daddy" podcast, Moroney admitted that she and Wallen were indeed in a romantic relationship.
"It was never a relationship," the "Am I Okay?" singer stated. "Although I haven't shared this with anyone before, I'll tell you this: [He] and I met in 2020. [Fellow country artist] Jon Langston introduced us. I was a senior in college at the time - COVID hadn't happened yet, and his 'Dangerous' album hadn't been released yet. So, we were friends for a long time."
"We were friends for a long time. We were not just friends. Now we're friends," she said.
Moroney acknowledged that she has attempted to evade the question regarding their relationship in all previous interviews, but now that we are present and time has elapsed, everything is fine.
When Wallen released his hit single, "Tennessee Orange," fans of both artists began speculating that they were romantically involved due to Wallen's support for the University of Tennessee football team, the Vols.
Megan Moroney, a country singer, reveals that her career has hindered her from finding the right person to marry at the moment.
Wallen and Moroney started commenting on each other's Instagram posts after the release of the song. Wallen added fuel to the rumors with his song "Tennessee Fan," which describes a girl who becomes a Vols fan after meeting a man.
"[He] and I met in 2020. [Fellow country artist] Jon Langston actually introduced us. I was a senior in college – COVID hadn't happened yet, his ‘Dangerous’ album wasn't even out yet. So, we were friends for a long time." — Megan Moroney on meeting Morgan Wallen
"She stated that he appeared to be a reserved individual. Despite not being in an exclusive relationship, their schedules often made it difficult for them to spend time together. When they attempted to schedule hangouts, it seemed like they only had one day out of the entire month that worked for both of them, and the other person always had something else going on."
Moroney stated that he keeps their brief relationship private because he is a private person and it feels awkward to discuss it.
When asked by host Alex Cooper if "Tennessee Orange" is about Wallen, she responded, "I never reveal who I sing my songs about."
In a recent interview with Planet Chronicle Digital, Moroney discussed her burgeoning music career and revealed that she doesn't "really have time for a relationship" because she devotes all her time and energy to creating music.
Megan Moroneys new album "Am I Okay?" serves as a way for fans to get to know her better.
"Because I'm not emotionally available, I'm not ready to find someone I want to marry right now, which is not even in the top 10 things on my mind. So, let's not waste anyone's time and not date right now until that point comes."
She is currently promoting her second studio album, "Am I Okay?" which was released this month, just one year after her debut album, "Lucky," was released in May 2023.
"The album is a continuation of 'Lucky' because it was released a year later, but it's actually based on my real-life experiences. This album is more intense, with happy songs being happier and sad songs being sadder. It includes a song about my friends and another about grief, which are both new themes for me. Overall, I think it offers something for everyone and provides an opportunity for my fans to learn more about me."
