Mattel's 'Wicked' movie dolls come with an adult website on their packaging.
Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande star in "Wicked"
The dolls created in collaboration with the new Universal Pictures film, "Wicked," were released with packaging that contained the website address for pornographic content.
Special edition dolls, resembling the actors in the movie, are available before its release on November 22.
The packaging of more than one toy contains the address for a website other than wickedmovie.com.
The web address on the doll box directs to a page that requires users to be 18 years old to access, while the dolls sold at retailers like Target, Kohls, and Amazon advertise that the toy is suitable for children over four years old, but is a choking hazard for those under three years old.
Mattel has not yet responded to a request for comment from Planet Chronicle Digital.
Other "Wicked" inspired toys, made by Lego and Funko, do not contain the website's URL.
The gaffe on X caused outrage among social media users, with many writing posts such as "That's an insane oversight, someone should be fired," and "Whoever did this needs to be fired immediately because it's mostly kids buying these dolls."
This weekend in Los Angeles, stars from the "Wicked" franchise, including Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, attended the film's premiere. The movie, featuring Grande as Glinda and Erivo as Elphaba, is generating excitement for its stunning cinematography.
The two leading ladies of the film were photographed with Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel, who played Glinda and Elphaba on Broadway.
The event was attended by additional Hollywood stars such as Jennifer Lopez, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Sarah Paulson.
