Kelly Clarkson admits that being vulnerable is easy except for one specific topic.
In 2022, the 'American Idol' alum finalized her divorce from her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.
Kelly Clarkson has never shied away from being her true self.
The Grammy Award-winning artist and talk show host discussed her vulnerability and how she handles boundaries while discussing her heartbreak in a new interview.
""Being vulnerable as a person is not difficult for me, but it becomes challenging when it involves other people's lives. I must navigate the line of 'Is that okay?' or 'Can I discuss my child with this person?'" - Kelly Clarkson, who finalized her divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock in 2022, shared with E! News on Thursday."
""I won't discuss certain aspects of my heartbreak because I'm unsure if other people are involved. It's about finding the right balance," Clarkson stated."
River Rose, 9, and Remington "Remy" Alexander, 7, are shared by Clarkson and Blackstock. The couple got married in October 2013, but in June 2020, the "Since U Been Gone" hitmaker filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences."
Since then, the two have engaged in both custody and business disputes.
Clarkson was granted primary physical custody of their two children, while they share legal custody. A judge later ordered Clarkson to pay Blackstock nearly $200,000 monthly in spousal and child support.
In 2022, the former couple's two-year battle over ownership of their Montana ranch ended with a judge ordering that Blackstock be given a 5.12% stake in the property, worth $908,800 of its total $17,750,000 value.
Her publicized legal battles and heartbreak have allowed her to connect with people on a deeper level.
"She told E! that she believes she is more normal than not, and that what draws people to her is likely her similarity to others."
"We're all alike," she stated. "We all possess areas where we excel and enjoy showcasing our skills, as well as areas where we enjoy listening and learning. We all have a desire to be more humorous and lighthearted in certain aspects."
