Kathie Lee Gifford reveals that she doesn't provide her children with guidance because "I raised them correctly."
Cody, Cassidy, and three grandchildren are mothered by Gifford.
Kathie Lee Gifford is an active parent and grandparent, but knows when to take a step back.
Gifford told Planet Chronicle Digital that he stopped giving his kids advice the moment they became adults.
I raised my children to know right from wrong, to trust the Lord, and to consider God as their best friend. I made it clear that I would only provide advice if they asked for it, and I have remained consistent with this approach.
Gifford, a mother of two, was accompanied by her late husband, Frank Gifford, to her children, Cody and Cassidy.
In 2020, Cody married his longtime girlfriend Erika Brown, and Cassidy married her fiancé Ben Wierda. Cassidy welcomed a son, Finn, in 2023, and Cody has two sons, Frank, in honor of his father, and Ford.
Gifford and Cassidy discussed their collaboration on "The Baxters" with Planet Chronicle Digital last year, with Cassidy disclosing that her mother had given her some career advice.
"I am the kind of parent that the minute my kids were adults, I stopped giving them advice." — Kathie Lee Gifford
"If you are both kind and hardworking, you consistently show up and respect others' time. My parents always emphasized that being five minutes early is equivalent to being 15 minutes late, which means that we should always be mindful of our actions and not overestimate our abilities. It's crucial to remember that once we think we've achieved success, we must remain humble and continue to work hard."
Gifford stated that success often comes at the expense of others, and this is prevalent in the entertainment industry. However, he believes that achieving success through the support of others is not worth it.
"Our faith has always inspired us to follow Jesus as our role model, who embodied perfection, mercy, and love in every aspect of his life."
Gifford's daughter is "a natural" at parenting, and her kids are "grateful" that she doesn't give advice, according to Gifford.
"She told Planet Chronicle Digital that they no longer need her in the same way, but she hopes they will still want her for their friendship and the shared joy of their babies. However, she only gives advice when asked."
Gifford emphasizes the joy of spending time with her grandchildren rather than the rewards.
The 71-year-old gushed about how she never thought she'd have children, let alone grandchildren, and how they are just precious, despite not getting enough time with them.
"Thank goodness for FaceTime now," she added.
Gifford's regular calls to her grandkids, particularly Cassidy's son Finn, made a significant difference during his recent visit to her home near Franklin, Tennessee.
"I'm not a grandmother. I don't want to be called that. And 'granny,' I will shoot you." — Kathie Lee Gifford
"He kissed me relentlessly, and I couldn't resist but to return the affection. I realized how much I enjoyed being loved in that way and decided to keep him close to me."

This year, the former "Today" host underwent a hip replacement and suffered a broken pelvis, stating that the injury occurred due to her own foolishness.
Gifford remembered how she moved 300 books for a couple of hours to prepare for a signing, only to fall and break her pelvis in two places the next day when a friend was picking her up.
Kathie Lee Gifford claims that she would be in an insane asylum without Jesus.
After eight days in the hospital, she received physical therapy and was able to walk and put weight on her leg faster than anticipated.
Gifford wants to make it clear about her status as a grandparent.
She jokingly stated, "I'm not a grandmother and I don't want to be called that. And if you call me 'granny,' I'll shoot you."
"Gifford said, "I love that Bubbie, the Yiddish word for grandmother, is different and sets me apart.""
It took her grandkids some time to correctly pronounce her name, initially calling her 'booby,' but eventually they got it right.
