Kate Middleton posts holiday message while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are excluded from royal Christmas invite, report suggests.
Since their marriage in 2018, the Sussexes have not spent Christmas at Sandringham with the royal family.
According to a report, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not been invited by the royal family to spend Christmas with them at Sandringham in Norfolk.
According to People magazine, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will spend Christmas in the United States this year, as they reside there, after not receiving an invitation to Sandringham.
Kate Middleton posted an emotional holiday message on Instagram, announcing that a special letter will be sent to the guests invited to her second Together at Christmas Carol Service at Westminster Abbey next month, as well as to the fifteen Community Carol Services across the country, thanking those attending for all they do for others.
Since their marriage in 2018, the Sussexes have not spent Christmas at Sandringham with the royal family.
The couple left England in 2020 and eventually settled in California.
Despite their strained relationship with the senior royals following Harry's memoir, Oprah interview, and Netflix series, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex continue to face criticism from the royal family as an institution.
The royal family, including King Charles III, Queen Camilla, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their children, Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte, are expected to spend the holiday season at Sandringham before returning in the new year.
Last year, the Princess of Wales conducted her first Together at Christmas carol service, which was her last public appearance before being diagnosed with cancer.
Last year, the princess's last public engagement before revealing her diagnosis was on Christmas Day at Church of St. Mary Magdalene on the estate.
In September, she announced she had finished her round of preventative chemotherapy.
This year, Charles was diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer and is still undergoing treatment.
The royal family's annual retreat to Sandringham estate during December through February was a tradition established by the late Queen Elizabeth, who would usually retreat there from her father, King George VI, after his death.
"According to Grant Harrold, the royal family's Christmas this year will be typical, with a focus on the young family, just like the late queen."
