Kate Middleton attends royal family event, marking her first significant public appearance since completing chemotherapy.
The Festival of Remembrance event was attended by Middleton, along with her husband Prince William and father-in-law King Charles III.
Kate Middleton made her first major formal appearance since completing chemotherapy treatment for cancer.
On Saturday, the Princess of Wales, who is 42 years old, attended the British Royal League's Festival of Remembrance event with other senior royals, including her husband Prince William and father-in-law King Charles III, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment.
The crowd gave Charles a standing ovation upon his arrival at the venue, as reported by the BBC.
The event, held at London's Royal Albert Hall, is part of the United Kingdom's annual Remembrance weekend, which honors the members of the British and Commonwealth Armed Forces community and celebrates fallen soldiers.
Middleton was captured on camera applauding alongside her loved ones during the royal box at the commemorative concert.
The princess wore a long-sleeved black dress with a bright red poppy pin for the occasion, symbolizing hope and remembrance of those lost in war.
Kate honored her late mother-in-law Princess Diana through her jewelry, wearing the Collingwood pearl drop earrings and the sapphire and diamond engagement ring, which were previously owned by Diana. She also added a pearl drop necklace to her outfit.
Queen Camilla, Charles' wife, was absent from the event due to recovering from a chest infection.
Her Majesty will not attend this weekend's Remembrance events due to doctors' advice to recover from a seasonal chest infection and protect others from potential risk.
Although The Queen is disappointed, she will celebrate privately at home and plans to resume public duties soon.
The BBC reports that Middleton and Charles will join the monarch in laying a wreath at the Cenotaph War Memorial in Whitehall, London, on Remembrance Sunday.
In April, Buckingham Palace announced that Charles, 75, had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing treatment. The monarch returned to public duties at the end of the month after taking a three-month break to focus on his health.
In June, Middleton made her first public appearance since disclosing her cancer diagnosis and undergoing preventative chemotherapy, attending the Trooping of the Color ceremony.
In September, Kate shared a heartfelt video, revealing that she was cancer-free after finishing her treatment and expressing her aspirations for the future.
The princess stated that while she had completed chemotherapy, her journey to complete healing and recovery would be a long process, requiring her to take each day as it comes. However, she was excited to return to work and participate in more public engagements in the upcoming months.
In recent months, Middleton has attended several public events and most recently participated in a meeting with the families of the victims who were murdered in a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in July, alongside William.
This week, William revealed that he had a "brutal" year following the cancer diagnoses of his wife and father.
According to People magazine, William stated on Thursday that the year has been difficult and probably the hardest of his life.
He mentioned that managing everything else while staying on track has been quite challenging.
""I'm proud of my wife and father for handling the things they've done, but from a personal family perspective, it's been challenging," William said."
