One enraged Hollywood actress turned producer has criticized the wildfire relief efforts made by British expat Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle, stating that they have not been successful.
Justine Bateman, who has previously criticized Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass' administration following the Southern California wildfires, now criticizes the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for what she perceives as an insensitive "photo op" at an evacuation center for fire victims.
"On Saturday evening, Bateman, 58, wrote to X, formerly Twitter, expressing his disapproval of Meghan Markle and Harry's actions, stating that they were no better than ambulance chasers and that their actions were a "repulsive 'photo op' they achieved.""
"Are they politicians now?" she asked, referring to the media footage she had reposted on the social platform. "They don't live here; they are tourists. Disaster Tourists."
On Friday, footage from Fox 11 Los Angeles depicted Harry and Markle socializing with Pasadena's mayor, Victor Gordo, in the city.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed friends and family displaced by the wildfire and donated essentials to aid the affected community.

Bateman's assessment of the royals was widely agreed upon by users, who admired her honesty. The couple's philanthropy has also been praised by others.
Bateman has maintained her criticism of California officials and their handling of wildfires. In an interview with Jesse Watters on Friday, Bateman, a resident of the Hollywood Hills, expressed her frustration by saying, "I'm pretty pissed off with the state of my city." She emphasized that if officials want to effectively manage a city or state, they must prioritize funding for their fire and police departments.
"If you don't take care of problems when they arise, you are useless to us," she declared.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's representative did not promptly respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's inquiry for comment.
The Palisades Fire, Eaton Fire, and Hurst Fire are the three active fires currently burning in Los Angeles, with the Palisades Fire being 11% contained, the Eaton Fire being 27% contained, and the Hurst Fire being 89% contained. A total of over 12,300 structures have been destroyed.
The County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner reported 16 deaths from the fires by Sunday afternoon.
