'Justice' demanded by 'Mean Girls' star after family secret revealed.

Amanda Seyfried is digging into her family roots.
On an episode of PBS’s "Finding Your Roots," the "Mean Girls" actress learned that her third great-grandfather, John P. Ebert, was brutally murdered in 1905.
"Wow, I can't believe it! What?" Seyfried exclaimed as she read a newspaper article from the past, placing her hands on her forehead in disbelief.
An unknown assailant shot John P. Ebert, a retired baker and a good citizen, three times on the back step of his home at Washington and Lumber Streets at 9:30 p.m.
A man stepped out from between the outhouse and grape arbor, and fired three shots at Seyfried point-blank as he read out loud, "He had just about reached the back door."
"That's so sad," said the "Mamma Mia" actress.
The host, Henry Louis Gates Jr., confirmed that your third great-grandfather was murdered.
The actress was asked by him, "Have you ever heard this story before?"
"Nope, no. Definitely no," Seyfried replied.
She added that she felt terrible for her third-great grandmother, who was also named Amanda, and their children.
"I don't know him, but he's family," Seyfried said in the clip. "I'm like, 'How dare they!' . . . 'Find justice.'"
In 2023, on the show, Julia Roberts disclosed family secrets from centuries past.
The actress was taken aback upon learning that her last name was not "Roberts" and was revealed to be entirely different.
Julia's great-great-grandmother had an affair with a married man after her husband's death, according to the historian. Gates Jr. disclosed that Henry McDonald Mitchell Jr. was the biological great-great-grandfather of Julia.
He added that Mitchell had six children of his own.
At the time, the "Pretty Woman" actress inquired, "So, we're Mitchells?"
"Gates Jr. confirmed that "You are not a Roberts, biologically.""
Roberts was left speechless after hearing the shocking news.
Although it's intriguing, I must admit that when I'm more composed, I can still hold onto the notion that my family is my family. I prefer the name Roberts. This was an unforeseen development.
