Julian Lennon, son of John Lennon, undergoes emergency surgery following skin cancer diagnosis.
A type of skin cancer, melanoma, was diagnosed in Julian Lennon.
Julian Lennon, John Lennon's son, has been diagnosed with cancer for the second time.
Julian shared his diagnosis on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, beginning with a disclaimer. "Warning: Graphic content ahead."
"Before flying to New York for a GMA appearance, Sirius XM, iHeart Radio, and My Fotografiska Q&A Book Signing Event, the individual visited their dermatologist, Dr. Tess, who had previously operated on their mole/skin cancer and saved their life. After finishing GMA, they received an urgent message from Dr. Tess, requesting their return to Los Angeles as two locations on their skin, one of which was melanoma, needed immediate attention."
Instead of returning home to put up my Christmas tree and relax, I flew back to Los Angeles after finishing work in New York and went straight from LAX airport to surgery, recommended by Dr. Tess, who spent several hours cleaning up and operating on me with large margins, in the hope of having clear margins at the end of the day, meaning being cancer-free.
The biopsy results are still pending, despite the successful completion of the operation, as noted by Julian.
Before thanking his medical team, he wrote that we might not get the results before Christmas.
"He wrote, "This is a timely reminder to all: please visit your doctor. It only takes a short time, and it could save your life. So, for your own sake, your family, and friends, go to your doctor and do what needs to be done. I love life and want to live a long one, and this choice could determine your future.""
Planet Chronicle Digital did not receive an immediate response from a representative for Julian when requested a comment.
This isn't the first time Julian has had a cancer scare.
In 2020, the singer-songwriter disclosed that he had undergone emergency surgery due to a mole on his head that appeared different.
At the time, he wrote on Facebook: "The issue is that you believe you have time... Recently, I visited my dermatologist in LA and she discovered a mole on my head that had been present for 57 years, along with a birthmark. However, this time, it appeared and felt different."
"She urged me to have a biopsy two days ago, which I obliged. However, I learned 24 hours later that it was malignant/cancerous, and she recommended immediate removal, which happened today."
"I cannot express my emotions, from a moment of happiness to the fear of disappearing at any instant, but my faith remains strong."
